    Hi

I'm considering a punt on some Lloyds shares, I wanted to know what the timing was, if I place an order to buy now (sunday night) when will they be bought? Monday at market opening?

    -Web

Also wondering the same, think I may wait to see what Monday brings then dive in... Would be nice to snap some up -.30 a share

Be careful putting an order in unless you specify a price limit. Sometimes there have been some very odd prices at the start and end of the day that do not reflect the price of a stock during the normal market.

If you set a limit at least you know you will not get caught but there is no guarantee the price wont continue to drop.
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

I now own a wodge of Lloyds ordinaries at about 41.5p. No way can they go lower, was my theory. Ah well!

Would be a punt. As on investment grounds little reason to invest until wider economic issues are resolved.

I actually regard various bank preference shares such as LLPC (not paying coupon!) and NWBD as lower risk than the ordinaries, and with greater income potential, though capital upside is obviously more limited. However, lower != no, and you need to be aware that banks and governments can play fast and loose with debt seniority when it suits them.

Do you have an exit price in mind? I don't expect these to turn into a dividend engine for the foreseeable future so will sell 50-100% if/when they hit double my buy price, which is 84p for me.

This one is going to require both luck and patience!

Don't have an exit price in mind, it cost me just over £1000 andi don't need the money so I understand it is risky and I am prepared to lose it, anything over 100p would be nice, looking to hold 3years+

Yes I set a price limit, but they all fell at open so that was fine.

Yes only a punt, I'm looking 20+ years into the future and this price is pretty much what it was at the bottom in 2008, and I've always regretted not putting a lot more into the market than I did.

I bought the same in RBS and Barclays but I wanted a little mix and a low buy in, perhaps one will make good over the next few decades.

In terms of exit price, not sure, but if they exceed their respective previous highs at some point in the next 20 years, I will probably sell.
