We are currently on BT at wotk with a 512k broadband connection. Our contract has now expired so we can migrate to another provider. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a ISP who can provide us with a minimum 1MB connection with a fixed IP address for our server.

I use Metronet see the link for details.http://www.metronet.co.uk/adsl/paygo#.
They do a fixed IP and are very reasonable with charges. Customer Service is known to be excellent. Also check out other ISP on ADSL guide http://www.adslguide.org.uk/

E7even provide a static IP address FOC and they currently have an offer on upgrading a 512 to 1Mb and 1Mb to 2Mb.
I've been with them for a while and am relatively satisfied. Unfortunately at the moment they are going through ADSL sevice upgrades and sometimes the performance has been patchy recently (used Dan Ewells broadband speed test).

Like Cloud_Dog, I am with e7even and thay have been very good for me (I have not experienced the network problems that some others have). Their customer support is very good IMO. and you get a static ip address (with free domain name registration and web hosting too). They have a special deal on at the moment so you will get 1MB or 2MB at a very good price. check my referral thread for details of the offers and discussion about e7even.To infinity and beyond!0

Update on Metronet, I forgot they include a firewall at their end and now a type of proxy server(Cerberus) to filter out junk, !!!!!!, ads etc.Down south where, unfortunately, the government does remember us.0
