Altho a little wary of Orange (altho its mainly after a couple of useless HTC phones, not Orange's fault really).., my other half's phone is due for upgrade. I desperately want an Ipad2, other half wants an IPhone4.., so the Orange Ipad2 and Iphone4 bundle for £100 (£65 a month line rental altho low data allowance I can get over that with my home wifi and the free BTopenzone they offer).

However, I've been waiting a week for the bundle items to come in stock. I was told a week and while I did take that with a pinch of salt, I wonder if anyone has any firmer idea on when Iphone4/Ipad2 stocks will be arriving.

No idea about stock but surely you can get both for less cost than £100 a month?
    £35 a month for a iphone4 (iphone5 is coming soon remember)

And an ipad2 costs £400 - minus some discounts with quidco maybe?

And if you can get 3 - you could opt for the unlimited data plan.

    Thanks for the reply.., but..,

If u have £400. I actually want the 32Gb Ipad2 .., Three are charging £279 I think. Limited data plan not a problem. By the time I have paid £25 a month for line rental for the IPad2 and say £35 a month for the Iphone4.., I'd question whether the £5 a month saving is worth it given the higher up front cost.

Iphone5 is rumoured for release in September.., it could be the New Year or later going by past experience.., and I doubt it will be released initially on a 'cheap' package given how Apple works lol. And again, will be high upfront costs paying for the phone.

Will you want to use the iPad on 3G much? I find if I want to use the Internet quickly and there is no wifi about, a smartphone is much more convenient, an iPad is a bit big to pull out quickly to look up directions or trains times etc.

Assuming £35 for a typical iPhone 4 contract, you would be paying over £700 over the life of the contract for an iPad, that's a very expensive iPad.

Edit: and that's not including the upfront payment for the iPad ofc, so that makes it even more expensive.

Its my choice lol. I do have reasons I specifically want an Ipad.., I don't want it as a phone.., I already have a Galaxy S smartphone and while I was out working the phone was very difficult to use to find prices of goods on the net because the screen is just not big enough. But I also want a multi-function device that's not as big as a laptop. Other tablets just don't match the Ipad2.., altho it isn't perfect itself.., it is good on things that I need. My other half will use the Iphone4 as he is due an upgrade, currently has a terrible phone.

I wasn't asking 'are you sure you want an iPad', I mean are you sure you want to use it on 3G rather than wifi. I got mine the week after they launched, I have used it on 3G exactly twice.

If you aren't going to use it on 3G much, just buy an iPad and get a Orange pay-as-you-go data sim for it (if you specifically want to use Orange).

Re: when are they going to be in stock - I've been trying to buy a black 64GB wifi iPad from the local Apple shop for 2 weeks, they never have them in stock, so I assume they are low on stock everywhere.

I pay £15 a month for 2gb iPad on o2 and £45 for iPhone 3 on 18 month contract. I have just gone to the orange deal.

It splits the data which works well as I don't use all of either. At £ 5 more a month seems like a cheap iPad to me!

The orange monthly iPad sim iPad is £15 a month. You can get a pay per mb deal but even going on online banking racks it up very quickly.

I can't ever foresee myself needing to check online banking when not at home (when at home, I use wifi). And even if I did, I have a smartphone which I can use the internet on. The only 2 times I have used the iPad with 3G on was when staying in a hotel, and the hotel wifi went down, and I wanted to look something up on the internet, and I didn't have a smartphone at the time.

The only times I'd want to use the internet on my iPad are when at home, or staying at someone's house, or at a hotel, or on a long train journey maybe, and in all those places wifi would be available.

I'm just saying consider when and where you will want to use the internet on your iPad, you might find you don't need 3G after all. Or you might find you will want to be using 3G all the time. Just don't be sucked in by all these adverts from mobile phone companies that imply you always need a service plan with an iPad, you don't.

Wifi only ipads are cheaper too.

I use a 90 day 3gb pre pay sim on three for my first generation iPad, I picked it up cheaply on eBay and bought a used iPad the same way. A years data will cost me less than £60. If you aren't fussed about having the second generation iPad the first generation ones are very cheap online.

If you already have a galaxy s, you don't need a 3g ipad because you can buy a wifi ipad and tether it to your phone when you are out. This will save you money in the long term because you will only have to pay for one plan instead of two.
It's not easy having a good time. Even smiling makes my face ache.
