I won a monster holiday and couln't go, my sister did exactly the same thing. At the end of the day you didn't lose £10k because it wasn't yours to lose in the first place it was a competition. That might sound tough but you will start to realise that in time. You are not out of pocket.

Sorry OP but am in agreement with last couple of posts.

Sounds like someone trying to take advantage of the good nature of posters on this board.

A very similar post was posted last year by someone with an almost identical name, saying that the day the online lottery site went down and the numbers they chose had all come up but due to a system error they lost out on millions. I wouldn't believe everything you read.

Nope - no Nigerian scam here. Just one very very stupid person who has learnt the hard way for keeping too tidy. I wouldn't mind but I am staying with the in-laws who have cupboards full of EVERYTHING!!! Why on earth didn't I just chuck it in the drawer??? I'm ok - almost back to normal. Going to start comping. Does anyone subscribe to coffeebreak? Is it worth paying for?

I have ended up going out and buying seven daily mirrors.

Sorry, but if this really did happen, what do you think the odds are of you finding another winning one?

My sympathy is with you if it is real. But, as the saying goes, s**t happens :D
    Thanks to all posters :A

Sorry - just wanted to tell you I am real - not a scam : ( Guess no-one can believe that someone can be so stupid.

Someone asked how I know. Well, I got two lots of grapes in Saturday's Mirror so only needed one more. I didn't really take it seriously but did have the odd look. By Thursday I decided it was a scam and chucked it in the bin. And then the next day my dad-in-law bought Tuesday's paper indoors which I hadn;t checked. I simply looked out of curiosity.

Anyhows, that's it. And no, not searching for money. No Nigerian here. Just wanted some sympathy as my family are bored of hearing about it now.

If anyone knows of any good websites for competitions let me know. Going to have a go and try and make up for my stupidity!!!

Well, you've made it this far, so I'm not sure why you're asking about other websites - this part of the MSE forum is pretty much all you'll ever need! Read the Comping Guide here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1014121

Time for me to stop this thread I guess. Now everyone thinks I'm advertising for coffee break!!!!!! Nope. Nothing like that. Just one stupid person who is kicking herself something crazy and desperate to win something again although I know lightening doesn't often strike twice.

Will go away now as I don't want anyone thinking this forum is getting scams on it : (( For the lovely messages, thank you. I will keep looking on here as lots of you have been lovely. x
