Lost £10,000 : (

Hi. I'm devastated. Threw my daily mirror cash wallet away yesterday thinking it was a scam and today the number I was waiting for came up. I am soo upset. I would have won 10,000 pounds!!! Rang them up and it seemed authentic. I asked if there were conditions eg. I would have had to share and apparently no. I just wondered if it is definitely genuine and I really have lost a once in a lifetime chance.

If anyone can help me take something positive away from this please also help me. Can't shift this awful feeling. Make me feel better. My heart just sunk when I saw my number and realised I binned it last night. The recyling went a few hours later :(

By the way it wasn't one of those scratch cards with a premium number to ring.

Ohh I'm so sorry, that's awful for you :( They say things happen for a reason, so maybe something more wonderful is waiting round the corner for you.
I wish you all the luck in the world with your comping, and that all your future wins make up for your loss. :)

Don't you just know it, when ever you dump something important the bins get emptied and the recycling gets collected within hours.

Thank you. Really kind. It was the first competition I had ever done so I am now deciding whether to do lots more or ban them forever. It's also the first time I have ever been on this site - wanted to make myself feel better. Got a feeling mumsnet might be taking a back seat with you kind people around. Any thoughts on how I can take something positive from this? And would I be wasting my time pursuing a competition hobby? Do people actually win anything? I have four little ones and scarce time.

Do you know where the van takes your rubbish to? I know, I know but if you explained that you'd lost your wedding ring or summat, they might let you have a rummage ;)

:) vbac... yes continue comping :j

I've won a quite a lot of things, not all big but DVDs, hamper, perfume, £50 Topshop voucher. I'm putting all my winnings in a box for future birthday/Christmas presents. I tend to comp at night while watching the telly, so you could do it of a night while your children are in bed. Look at it this way, what have you got to lose... nothing... but everything to gain :D

Comping's a great fun hobby that sometimes reaps rather fab rewards.
Just don't take it too seriously / stake too much on it & enjoy!
