Cheapest broadband

Hi,

I am moving to a new house but I DON'T need or want a phoneline but do want broadband, so I am looking for the cheapest broadband with the following:

- 8Mb+ speed
- Unlimited usage
- 12 months MAX contract length

Please include the cost of line rental in the price if applicable.

You many not want a landline but you certainly need one for adsl broadband.

Put the postcode in http://www.samknows.com/broadband/broadband_checker to see whats available to you.

True Unlimited is only available on BE*,Sky LLU and BT
8Mb + may or may not be available depending on line length/condition etc

Cheapest landline rental is probably via Primus but check the reviews on here to decide if its worth saving a couple of ££ a month

There's not a lot you can do about the speed with ADSL. It will be somewhere between 135kbps and about 21Mbps depending on a variety of factors. You "get what you're given". Most lines in the country aren't capable of 8Mbps+. The average is 4 to 6Mbps depending on who you believe.

If you can get cable, there's your 8Mbps (it starts at 10Mbps and goes up to 100Mbps in some parts) and is theoretically unlimited, though is traffic shaped I think. No need for a phone line, it doesn't rely on one.
