Tiscali to TalkTalk ??

Alongside many many others, I've a shed load of terrible tales about TalkTalk, which I wont aggravate myself by relaying them to you. Fortunately I managed, with great difficulty, and lots of "escalating" to talk my way out of joining them (sorry about the pun!) some time ago. This was when they sent out letters "welcoming" Pipex customers (of which I was one) to TalkTalk, at an increased fee of course!
I am now trudging along with Tiscali, who seem to be connected to TalkTalk and Pipex in some convuluted way. Its cheapish, £23 per month, and more or less does the job, with broadband and landline, the former isnt brilliantly fast, but its acceptable.
I am now getting rather worried about whether TalkTalk will eventually try and have their evil way with me after all. I was sent a questionaire to fill in about how I'd feel if this happened (you know the sort of thing...on a scale of etc...).
Does anyone know if TalkTalk are taking over what's left of Tiscali etc and merging all of us together? Needless to say, I will opt out as soon as possible if it does happen. I've heard 02 is a good option but I do so hope I dont need to go thro all of this again.
Can anyone put me out of my misery?

I was with Pipex for many years, They then became part of Tiscali, which then became part of TalkTalk.
Are you on the business tariff?
I was/am, but recently took out the latest TalkTalk business tariff as it was about £5 a month less, for the same thing I was already on.
After a couple of initial problems, TalkTalk second level support sorted it all out and I an now averaging around 2mbs more than I was with Pipex.
All in all I've found them pretty good.0 -
TalkTalk took over Tiscali in 2009 but they did send out paperwork asking you to join TalkTalk; which just seemed like a sneaky way of getting you to re-sign a contract onto a TalkTalk service plan rather than your existing one and tie you into a contract.
I signed up to Tiscali years ago, when i log in now to see my account it logs me into TalkTalk and i pay TalkTalk...0
