Whats wrong with buying Kitkats out of morrisons and selling them for profit?

It's against the law to sell multi packs as singles.

15 years ago I'd have agreed, but with lemons costing 40p, sugar £1.90 odd, and citric acid £1.40 in my local shops, that quid isn't really much in the way of startup capital! ;-)
:o I did wonder as I typed it, but sugar, lemons and citric acid aren't on my weekly shopping list.

I suppose no way of combining several magic pounds for the purposes of this exercise?

Or just bear that one in mind if you can get that £ into several before the elderflowers fade!

What law exactly? As far as I knew it was just frowned upon by suppliers, but I don't know of any specific legislation completly banning it.

Although, possibly if the multipack items don't meet legal labelling requirements it could be unlawful (e.g. if ingredients, etc are only on the outside packaging, not each item)

It is a microeconomic demonstration of undercapitalisation - and how a bit of communism can make it better for everyone :-$

A raffle seems to be the best option surely. Its amazing what you can buy for a £1 in the Pound Shop, sell tickets for 25p. Market the raffle as a fun Mystery Raffle. You could even increase the prize as you sell the tickets. So l suppose you would buy the raffle tickets for £1 and use ticket sales to purchase the prize.

Bake cakes and sell them to your workmates. There was a lady who did the 'start with a quid' challenge in aid of her local church. In 4 months she turned-it into £74k.

Actually thats the best idea, with the pound buy a raffle book and sell the tickets for a pound each. You have the 50% charity aspect already which should sell more tickets. As the tickets sell buy some prizes!!

Her secret was that as soon as she sold the first batch, she bought the materials and made the second. It did not take long to get to the point where she had loads of orders from local cafes.

The Vicar who was interviewed, stated that within a year, this lady would single-handedly raise all the funds required to complete the church repairs.
