Magic pound

Hi all did't know where to stick the post.

Here's the deal In work teams have been given a pound, In two months we have to increase the amount from a pound to whatever amount we can raise, this will be halfed for charity and half to the winning team.

Rules no illegal activies, People have metioned buying something for a pound and trying to sell for a profit.

We have to keep a paper trial.

Any ideas on how we can make this pound grow.

Easy - buy the 5 pack of kitkats in Morrisons and sell for 40p each - 100% profit straight away (keep going on same ilk) or what about buying something from the pound shop and raffling it!

I would agree with greytroot, atleast until you get up to £10-£20 then you can start looking at purchasing bigger items that could be sold for more
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

In which case, are they declaring the growth for tax?

Go to the bootfair, I bought a beautiful bracelet for 20p and other places they are like £4. Some people on ebay will pay well over the odds for poundshop items, I saw 3x dimebars £1 from poundshop going for £3 on ebay.

    Good luck.
    Cross trainer fund- £21.

If you're quick, spend your £1 on sugar and lemons and citric acid, pick elderflowers, and make elderflower cordial to sell to your colleagues. But the elderflowers won't be around much longer!

15 years ago I'd have agreed, but with lemons costing 40p, sugar £1.90 odd, and citric acid £1.40 in my local shops, that quid isn't really much in the way of startup capital! ;-)

Maybe a bit late but a couple of packets of seeds would be a decent long term investment
