Before you buy direct from dell......

Hi,
I bought my third DELL desktop computer last August, having been very happy with there reliability and service. My first and second computers from Dell provided years of trouble free use.

I will not be buying from them again however as I have been very disappointed with there service this time round.

As people have said, compare the specs - the one on Ebay has an Intel Pentium Dual Core T4500 CPU, whereas the new ones from Dell have a second generation (Sandy Bridge) Core i3 - so not even in the same ballpark.

Firstly there's Inspiron 15 and there's the Inspirion 15R which are two different models so I don't know what you bought. Dell are selling almost identical spec for £379 to the Zavvi offer (might be the same, might not)

although I think the Zavvi deal was very good, it almost certainly was not the same machine as what Dell sold you.

And it had the old processor, not the i series like the one sold by dell.

Be honest - was it the Zavvi deal including the 'Thierry Mugler designer laptop case' that really wound you up?

she could be.. but now because she cancelled her order, ordered the one from Zavvi and discovered that it's a completely different laptop
