Paid off my Orange contract but still no money taken?

I phoned up 2 weeks ago and agreed to pay off the rest of my contract with Orange, believing that it would be a pretty immediate process.Since then my last bill with them has been paid, but they've still not taken the rest of the money.

Anyone got an idea of the usual timescale on these things ?

Any help appreciated!

Paid off - you mean you asked to cancel early?
Maybe want to confirm that request has been actioned.
Either way - you should allow for one complete billing cycle (month + 14 days I would say) to pass for the money to be collected.
Whats the rush in paying it off?

Did you definitely cancel or did they send you a PAC? I've seen a couple of posts on here recently where the customer's thought they've cancelled but they've actually just been sent a PAC they didn't use so the contract continued.
  • Nah I phoned up to pay it off and they gave me a termination date which was around the 6th of June.

I want it paid off because I only work part time and there are certain times of the month I wont have that amount of money to spare

Some networks require you to confirm in writing that you wish to cancel and theres a chance they will wait till after the 6th to finalise the account in case you've incured any further charges before it ended ???
Probably best to ring them and check what the situation is
It's not just about the money
