in Phones & TV
I have been a sky customer for about 10 years and was ok with the TV package, but i made a huge mistake i upgraded my package got a HD box and added the phone and broadband which has added a whopping £60 or so to my bill each month i have 6 months to go before i can cancel, well 5 months and then 6 it will be the last bill.
If i stop paying will they then send me the minimum for the remainder of the contract ?
I want to go over to a pay as you go phone and get rid of this £100 a month bill
Thanks for any answers

W~hat do you mean, if you stop paying
If yu stop paying they will chase you for the money that is owed up to the end of your contract. Did you not go
into the prices that you would be charged before signing up.
What I can suggest (seeing as you are well and truly stuck with it for 6 months) is ring them up, tell them you are having
financial difficulties and try to negotiate a discount. They really are very helpful in these matters, Ive just negotiated a £15 discount for the next three months, Ive negotiated free repairs.
Give them a ring but for goodness sake dont stop paying them. They are ruthless in their pursuit of debt.
Let us know how you get on.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

We had Sky when we couldn't get cable. When we moved 7 months later (as we couldn't get broadband either) we moved back to a cabled street.
Therefore we had no need of the Sky dish and they allowed us to drop the package to the lowest one to pay off the remainder (5 months).
That said, companies are quite keen to start new contracts when you change things, so best check.
If you speak to them they might help you. If you don't speak to them they'll disconnect the services and you'll have to pay fees anyway.0 -
By not paying them i thought it would be cheaper to do it that way, i would just get the fees for the services until the contract ends, if i can halve it that would do for the time left, they seem to put through to the cancellations and then play music and the batteries on my handset run out, or they put the phone down for me to start all over again.
They are the most unreasonable people i was getting phone calls for someone else and they refused to change the number without a police crime number i have totally had enough. I want out of the £100 a month, if i can just pay the bare minimum charge i would not care if i never saw a sky TV programme again0 -
Well how is it £100 pm for a start? I have sky tv with a recently given (by Sky) +HD box, line and BB for around £40pm (varies a bit due to calls).
By not paying them you will basically be defaulting on a contract, you will still owe them the money. I dont see how you think this 'solution' is cheaper in the long run?YNWA

It is £42 for the sky family pack with HD mix and box, the internet is free because i have the line and the calls which cost £11.25 and the rest is on the call charges
I have written sky a recorded delivery after phoning them to ask for cancellation of the phone and internet i have to pay the 6 x £11.25 so about £68 and i have asked for a downgrade of the TV if that does not give me another contract if it did then i will stay at the £42 so the problem appears to have been solved
Thanks to all0 -
I cannot see how its increased by " a whopping £60 or so"
telephone rental will be £12.25
Anytime Calls £5.00
Unlimited Broadband £7.50
HD Package £10.25
An increase of £35.00 unless youre on Sky connect @£17 and have added other packages ie Sports and/or Films from your original setup0 -
Just seen your latest post as i was replying. That's a lot of calls every month
Have you got the evening weekend calls and have been calling daytime?0 -

I was paying £42 and then £100 or so that in my book is £60 or so, i did not come on here to quibble
Thanks to everyone for the input.0 -

The bulk of the calls seem to be starting with 08 or 09 these are disability shops and equipment/ services as my son is disabled. i prefer to go over to a pay as you go.0 -
