Jobcentre advisor interview on a saturday?

Had a phonecall today from my jobcentre telling me that they had to cancel my advisor interview on 13th July and that they were opening specially on saturdays so I needed to go on 25th june instead - I explained that its awkward on a weekend with my daughter but i'm informed I have no choice and I was left feeling rubbish I offered to go any other day and at any time which is part of my job seeking agreement - (they have agreed on the agreement not weekend work) but was told it had to be that saturday!:(

really confused and should I be worried? has anyone else been put in this situation?

If your jobseekers agreement states you are only available for work Monday to friday, you do not have to attend the interview unless you agree to it. Call them back, tell you cannot find any one to have the children and you are unavailable. If you don't go and the case gets sent to a decision maker, you state you were unable to go as you are unavailable weekends in accordance with your jobseekers agreement. They cannot sanction your benefit unless you agree that you can , on this instance attend.

Just take the kids along, they are allowed as kids are always about when I go and I've had to take my daughter several times myself, just remember something to keep them occupied. :)

I always have to take DS with me, I just take him a few toys in my bag and he's fine. The staff are lovely with him, its really no problem to take him.
