Electric Heating Systems

I am considering moving to a bungalow in Chapple St Leonards. I would need
to install an electric boiler system.

.There is an old gas back boiler curently fitted in fireplace running off bottled gas with old gas fire standing at front. The radiators look fairly new.
There is a tank in the attic and seperate emersion as back up water supply. As electric boilers are wet system am i right to think an electric boiler can be simply fitted to existing radiators. I need advice on what is most economical and best..Apreciate any advice you can give.

The property has a hall 9.9ft x4.2ft.Lounge 15ft.9ft x 12ft.7ft.Bedroom 1/ 10ft.9x 11ft.7 Bedroom 2 /9ft.9x 8ft Kitchen 9ft.6 x8ft.9.Small bathroom.
It is my understanding their is an emersion that works independantly to heating system. The back boiler fitted in fireplace works off LPG Gas bottles.I do not know if the back boiler heats the hot water in the cylinder or heated by the immersion heater.
What is standard domestic supply single phase.? Could you please advise what my options are on this system? What is the best an most economical wet electric systems available and that could be adapted to Microgenerationhe in the future.
I would be very grateful if you could please give me a guide to costs .

Leaving aside Heat Pumps, there is no economical wet electrical heating system. If you read through the many posts in this forum you will see that you get the same amount of heat from any electrical system for the same running cost.

What you can have is a large 'thermal store'( a very large hot water tank) and heat that with cheap rate electricity on an Economy 7 tariff, however you then pay a premium on all other electricity you use during the day(17 hours)

You can of course have storage heaters, or simple plug in heaters.

This is the normal electrical supply that virtually every property has in UK.

    Thankyou for reply.

I was considering wet electrical heating system using the system in place.

What is considered the most ecomomical electrical system? What is the most easiest electrical system to install?

I would like more instant on demand heating than storage heaters.

Anyone advise good plug in heaters, that give comfortable backgound heat.

You can have the LPG come on any time you want,
which is the instant on demand sorted.

If you are staying home all day, storage heaters on Economy 7 should be good.

Nothing is cheap, unless you can get free wood.

I predct a future combination crime:

    1. Illegal wood collecting

    2. Flytipping

One trip, two loads. You bring the rubbish in a full truck,
dump it, cut the tree, load the logs and go. Saves diesel,
so the criminal considers himself green.
