Dogs are only left for about 45 mins whilst we do the school run Mon-Fri. DH and I work around one another's shifts so it's a very rare event that they are left more than a couple of hours

I'm lucky enough to be able to say my dogs don't get left on their own as we're home all day with them.

Only if I go somewhere I can't take them - doctor's appointment or a night out - do they get left alone.

When we had just one he was never left on his own at all but now we have two (we got a second as we knew he really really wanted K9 company) we don't mind leaving them if we have to go somewhere they can't come like shopping etc.

We would not have had dogs if we both worked full time though.

I am looking for work now but it won't be anything longer than school hours.

Now we have moved we have a much better set up for my dog.

3 days a week I leave for work at 7.30am and she gets picked up for the day by inlaws about 2 hours later until I get home.

On the other 2 days we have dog walker who collects her mid way through day and takes her out for ages :)

I rarely leave her in the house though she much prefers the garden - constant fuss from the neighbours whilst she is at the gates.
