You can't do it yourself, why not just re-register with a new name and different email address as you don't have a long history with the site.

From the Forum Rules which you will find above

forum_faqs_small_bubble.gifHow can I change my username?
In most circumstances, this is not permitted.
The only reason we will change your username is if it puts your privacy at risk. This usually means you've inadvertently registered using your name, email address or something that gives away your identity within your username.
If you fall into this category, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com and request that it is changed, giving three alternative usernames in order of preference.

"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 2010
• Good morning k444tmc,

If you feel your username puts your privacy at risk, please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com; (as stated) providing 3 alternative usernames along with a suitable statement as to why it should be changed.

Kind regards;

Joe

For example: if your forum username was "johnsmith14" and your real name is John Smith coupled with the number 14 having some relevance to you in some way; then I believe this might be a valid argument.

All I am suggesting is don't use your own name or a user name that can identify you.

MSE admin WILL assist if your user name is causing 'issues' - despite a post in another thread suggesting otherwise.

People can simply set up new accounts by re-registering with a different email account. And it can be done vey quickly. As we saw on the weekend.
