AA Internet Access ISA 3.35% AER (unlimited access)

Hi

My daughter has asked me to look into a decent ISA account where she can leave just over £3,000 for a year.

The best I can find is the AA Internet Access which offers 0.15% less interest than the Barnsley Fixed Rate ISA which doesn't allow any withdrawals.

Are there any better accounts out there compared to the AA ISA?

Many thanks!

I put my ISA money into the AA, as far as I can tell it is one of the top variable rates. I was torn between this one and santander, but all the bad press around them pulled me towards the AA. Who are actually Birmingham Midshires.

The Santander one has a base rate tracker built in which could be quite attractive with talk of rates rising potentially as soon as next month.

I'm no fan of Santander and have received numerous goodwill payments from them in the past for their lacklustre display, but I'd still choose the Santander one even with their known customer service issues. I effortlessly opened one online recently and had my full allowance deposited immediatley.

The base rate racker, I'm sure will come into it's own a few months down the line if/when rates rise which I believe is quite probable. It will then leave the AA trailing in it's midst. It accepts FP transfers in and you have the added advantage of being able to use thousands of high street branches for deposits/withdrawls.

I opted for the Santander account last night. There was no facility to add details of where I wanted money transferred from etc, so I'll wait and see what bumph comes in the post.

True if interest rates were to rise, this government though is intent on keeping interest rates low, at the expense of inflation and savers.
