Last time they called me I asked them if it was a problem with a virus, they said yes, I said thank you for calling me, I've been building that and keep it in my sandbox, if you can detect it then something is wrong - they actually hung up on me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shame really, I was looking forward to the rest of the conversation! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

total scam, put it this way, how would microsoft get your number? or for that matter be able to know you had a problem, they would have the biggest call center in the world
maybe get the number and report them

This is a really common scam. I work in broadband support for one of the larger companies and I often get people calling me to check if it was a scam (sadly sometimes after they've given over their card numbers)
"But they SAID they were from Microsoft" is a common wail...................Well yes I could ring anyone and CLAIM I was too-it amazes me people don't try to verify the info at all.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I guess the problem is people trust to easily when it comes to computers, infact accross the board, same with mechanics and the "ohhh thats going to cost abit for <random part>"0

He had the cheek to phone straight back looking for an apology for me swearing. Told him I can say what I want in my own house and hung up again. .
I wonder if this was the same bloke who called me tonight. Claimed he was from Microsoft and when I asked for his phone number so I could check, replied "HOW DARE YOU! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE CHECKING UP ON ME???"
Very professional.
I then dared to tell him to f*** off.0 -

Don't believe anyone calling about computer problems, unless they are returning a call you've made regarding a computer problem.0

I've had three from them this week! What with that and now a recorded message from someone else telling me to press 1 to listen and 9 to delete I'm half afraid to answer my phone. Still enjoy telling them I don't have a computer though0
