Do people deliberately wait for invoices to be sent?

I'm wondering if I haven't acted 'correctly'?

Sold 2 identical items, one person paid, one person didn't. After 24 hours, I sent the person who hadn't paid yet, an invoice. She then paid (via PayPal) and asked me to send asap, which of course I will do.

Should I have sent the invoice as soon as the auction ended? I get the feeling she was maybe waiting for an invoice before paying? I don't sell very often and people have always just paid via PayPal as soon as the auction has ended and I've never sent an invoice before.

For future use, do I send an invoice straightaway if payment isn't immediately made after auction end?

Some people do wait for invoices and if i am around at auction end I do usually send one.

If someone hasn't paid within an hour or so of buying (my stuff is all BIN), then I will send an invoice (or as soon after as I see if I'm not around immediately).

Don't you want immediate payment on your items? Any BIN I've bought have required immediate payment.

I always send an invoice as soon as I am able to.

What I have had a few times is people wait a couple of days after I have sent the invoice and then say they haven't had an invoice and want one.

I sold something on Tueday and sent an invoice straight away and have just had a message asking for an invoice. I have re sent it so no sure if its just delaying tactics. By the way the item cost £1 plus £1.50 postage so not an expensive item.

I have a mixture of buyers, some pay straight way, others wait till I am around and send an invoice.

To me personally it makes no difference as long as they pay up within a reasonable amount of time.

Does eBay automatically send an invoice when an auction ends? hat about if they've bought more than one item though, I always amend postage costs. I'm surprised my buyers aren't a bit miffed, coz I always send an invoice when auction ends too. So now I know they're getting two! Oh dear.

I send an invoice, unless it's a collection item, then I send buyer a message, as I don't want them paying by Paypal if I can help it.
A couple of NPB's I've opened recently have both come back & said that they didn't know they'd won the item, despite ebay's invoice & two of my own.

I must admit I never send an invoice after a sale. Most of my buyers pay immediately. The only time I send one is if I haven't received payment on day 2 I send one as a reminder.

Same here. I send out mostly on day 3.
