Anyone else not being able to get through to EDF Energy at their call centre?
I know the call centre number is free but after 3 days of half an hour listening to the same jingle it gets rather boring.
Switched to them in Feb and told them 3 times that they havent taken out the £110 monthly direct debit after they set it up.
Three times they have said they will do it next month but havent

Yes I have had trouble getting through to them as well. Needed to speak to someone about a meter reading as there was a problem with their automated service. Waited ages on the phone listening to the inane noise on the other end but after a while I just gave up. Better things to do with my time. It's so annoying that they think you have all day to sit around waiting on them.

Don't know what they are up to as up to as I haven't had trouble with this lot until now. Probably going the same way as the rest of the companies that think once they have your business customer service is an optional extra.

I tried several times over a weekend to discuss a tariff change and couldn't get through -it just cut me off after putting me in the queue. Also had trouble with the web site - very slow to load on occasions.

Now is the time to write to them keeping a copy. At least when they do wake up to the problem, they will not be on such strong ground to give you grief if you can show that you did let them know of the problem.

EDF's computer and phone systems are linked. i.e. neither work.

Better to write/email to the Customer Service Department.

You need to give them a lot longer than half an hour to answer.

My last 2 calls have been answered in just over an hour.

Sent a message through my online account last night as really couldnt be bothered phoning again.

I called 0800 904 7452 it's their customer "liaison" number I complained at not being able to get through to their call centres got the usual excuses about high call volumes blah blah blah then got put through to someone in said call centre.

I've been trying to contact them for the past week to no avail until I tried the customer liason number above (thanks Gareth56). Apparently there's a backlog of emails, the woman I spoke to said she'd been answering emails dated 4 June.

Btw, if anyone uses their online account facility, beware; my account online tells me I'm £266 in credit but the adviser I eventually spoke to told me I was £105 in credit, which seems a lot more likely. I now don't trust their online facilities at all!
