Hi all
After a little advice ordered 3 items from cat
returned all 3 items and was refunded for goods but not refunded postage, i have just phoned them up and said that the items were not suitable and was told that they only refund postage on returned items if they are faulty.
Is this correct please, many thanks in advance.

Do you mean the postage costs for returning the items?0

You wouldn't get refunded the original postage you paid it's something like £3.95 I think? Did you pay to post it back as it's free to send back although if you choose to get it signed for as I do with Asos then you won't get refunded for this either as that would be your choice to send it that way as there was a free returns option.
I hope this helps

You are entitled to be refunded the original P&P costs you paid to get the items sent to you.0 -

In my experience they have never refunded me for items I just didn't want - only when faulty.0

(note: this is a leaflet for businesses, so "you" refers to the shop, not the consumer)Apart from these exceptions the DSRs give consumers an unconditional right to cancel a contract and legally oblige you to refund all sums due in relation to the contract, this means the full price of the goods, or deposit or prepayment made including the cost of the delivery. This must be done as soon as possible after the consumer cancels, and within a maximum of 30 days.Competition wins: Where's Wally Goody Bag, Club badge branded football, Nivea for Men Goody Bag0 -
I suspect the 'free returns service' isn't actually free.0

Distance Selling Regulations guide:-
What specifically do I have to refund to the consumer if
they cancel?
3.48 The DSRs require you to refund any money paid by or on behalf of
the consumer in relation to the contract to the person who made the
payment. This means the full price of the goods, or deposit or prepayment
made, including the cost of delivery. The essence of
distance selling is that consumers buy from home and receive goods
at home. In these circumstances, almost every case of home
shopping will involve delivery of the goods ordered and so delivery
forms an essential part of the contract.
