    Very clever Oprheo, very clever!
perhaps would have been better phrased as:
"gazebo, what areas of glasgow are your looking for property in?"

i made a thread a while ago about the value of my property in zoopla being ridiculous, my neighbours property is on the market for this though and his is smaller property than mine, do you think he will get this price ?

    it seems a bit insane

Nobody whose opinion matters in the transaction will be swayed by the property 'estimate' on Zoopla.....

PPPingu - I'm looking southside really. I have a fairly small budget to play with and a list of requirements as long as my arm, so chances of finding something suitable are significantly reduced :rotfl:

We are going to view a few in the Kelvindale/Maryhill area on Sunday, and one in Govan next week. I did see one near where I stay in Yoker but the stairs to the attic conversion were about as sturdy as a teen on buckfast. Another one was riddled with damp (we had offered on it but survey basically put us off). The one I hope to buy is in jeopardy due to unrealistic expectations of the seller....

    Gaz,
I am well versed in the South of the Southside now - there seems to be a fair bit at the lower end of the market, if you want to PM your search requirements, I'll send you some of the options that I've seen.

Leanne, have you had a look on the auction websites? there seems to be a variety of properties out there, but you cant really go on the guide price...
  • hey Pingu, make sure you dont pay too much!!! v unusual, I havent seen many properties in Glasgow going to closing date in a long time!

We've just had offer accepted on a property that had been on market for 2 years, and they still were't that felxible on price!

In general from what I've seen in Glasgow, the traditional builds (tenements etc) are holding their price fairly well, a lot of new builds and brand new dvelopments prices just keep dropping and dropping.

prices will be going know where when jobs and the econimy are under siege..the next twelve months should be very interesting indead concerning the price of houses....it takes on average 1 yr to sell a house where i live..according to home.co.uk....

    here is glasgows http://www.home.co.uk/guides/house_prices.htm?location=glasgow
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
