I did that and they updated the file, added notice of dispute on any accounts not showing as settled, and contacted all the creditors. They then sent me updates as they got replies from creditors. Most of them agreed to the changes. This is the letter I sent:
Thanks so much - I'll get that done tonight and sent tomorrow.
And thanks also to Evershed for getting me moving on cleaning up my file!0 -

Sorry, I know I'm jumping ahead here as I won't know if the letter is from Eversheds (although everything points to that) until tomorrow, but if it is, what do I need to do? As far as I am concerned they shouldn't even be writing to anyone who is discharged as the debt is no longer their responsibility. How quickly before they show up on my credit file? I'm assuming MBNA must have off loaded it before Experian contacted them, which if thats the case, then there is a good chance that they will have the wrong default date on my credit file (once it shows) and possibly still showing an outstanding balance.
Update: Ain't had the letter, but just did the 30 day free trial with Equifax and it was good news/bad news. Bad news is that MBNA have sold it on to Max Recovery as I now have an entry on my credit file called Max Recovery (MBNA) showing an outstanding balance and its not marked as satisfied. The good is news I just realised that Experian must have done their job contacting Cahoot/Santander as its now showing (on the Equifax report) as satisfied and a zero balance and with my default date as the day I went BR. So now I just need to sort Lloyds (letter went today) and now this Max Recovery (MBNA). So do I write to Max Recovery or Eversheds?0 -
Welshlad - see posts #12 and =#12 on Page 1.
If they do update your file with the wrong dates then I guess you'll just need to contact them as part of your clean up.When I joined, I needed a name. The forum members gave one to me...I am INAN

Sorry, I think me updating/editing my post above crossed with yours. So do I contact Max Recovery or Eversheds?0

Max Recovery I would say, if the CRA record is in their name.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have just been dealing with Evershed over a loan that was purchased by Max Recovery. I emailed them with the details they requested (to update my credit file) and they responded the next day to thank me and to say it was being taken care of. Up to now I have found them very professional and courteous.
Dojoman, just been re-reading through the tread and I see you've dealt with them for the exact same reason (clean up credit file). On my Equifax credit report the contact details are an 0845 number or the eversheds website. So based on that and your post I'm assuming its Eversheds I need to contact not Max recovery themselves. You say you emailed them? Was did you say? I just assumed we needed to send the template letter in the post for them to update the info?0 -
Hi WLINTC:) I emailed them asking whom they were representing, I attached a copy of my Bankruptcy order, my discharge notice from the IS register and the letter confirming my discharge from my OR. Turns out it was an error on their part and the entry should not have been put on my credit file in the first place, they say they have deleted it from their data base and should come of my credit file in the next few days.:pB&SC No. 298

Hi all, I was discharged as of 7th April 2011 and thought all was in order but today recieved a letter from Eversheds solcitors saying that on 27th May 2011 MBNA (one of my creditors obviously) sold my account to MAX Recovery Ltd. The letter says it's for info and I dont need to take action, and that a letter will also be sent to my "supervisor or trustee" (I assume they mean the OR?). Is this something that is going cause bother for me in future? I had assumed that, as I was bankrupt then discharged, I wouldnt have any more issues with debt collectors. Thanks as always."I got food in my belly
