Letter from Eversheds

Options
I'm three weeks away from AD and dont have an IPA, currently on JSA (like every other person in my part of London, so it seems).

And today in the post I received my first bit of post with the word bankruptcy written on it.

Dear Sir

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A PAYMENT DEMAND

Please not that on the XX/05/2011 MBNA Ltd sold and transferred your account XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX to MAX Recovery Ltd. Your account will be administered on behalf od MAX Recovery Ltd and Eversheds LLP.

The letter is for your information only and you do not need to take any action. A letter will also be sent to your Supervisor or Trustee.

Should you have any queries, please do not contact this office.

For the avoidance of doubt, we will be dealing directly with your Supervisor/Trustee in Bankruptcy as required by law. There is no need to respond to this letter.

Yours faithfully

Eversheds.

Any ideas what this is about? Seems crazy they send out a letter like this and tell me IN THE LETTER not to contact them about it?

Cheers

They are just letting you know that MBNA have managed to offload your account to Max Recovery, it is nothing to worry about.

I had exactly the same letter from them this morning, also re MBNA (maybe they've taken a job lot?). I'm a month off AD.

    Filed it in the shredder.

For clearing that up... English and bankruptcy companies dont seem to be compatible. It might as well have been written in Welsh.

Cheers, mine will be winging its way to the bin now. Gotta say MBNA have - without doubt - been the worst company ive had to deal with when i started getting into debt problems. Nice to finally, officially, be shot of them.

May be worth keeping, as they are probably the people you'll need to talk to to get the credit report entries sorted once you are discharged.

Max Recovery deliberately buy up debts that have been included in bankruptcies/IVAs etc.

    Presumably for pennies.

If they pick them up for little enough, then I suppose they make money out of the small % that get an eventual pay out from the OR.

    Strange business....

    lol

It's not vital. Their details are on the ICO register, and there are a fair number of threads here with them on as well.

I, too had a letter from Eversheds. I was AD in November 2010. I have been doing my credit clean up and it appears MBNA sold on the debt after they updated my debt to satisfied, is this normal.

So will Eversheds contact my trustee, I guess my OR, even though I was discharged last year? Do I need to do anything?

I love the line in the letter "should you have any queries, please do NOT contact this office".

    Thanks in advance
