Does anybody know how often Secret Shopping pays? Did a job 2 months ago and no payment. I emailed them earlier this week but they have not replied.

Agree about GFK - the best!

Must be the week for companies being a bit of a pain.
Abai phoned me Monday to ask me to do 2 cat shops, 1 of which I could do Tues as was in the town anyway, and the other Thursday as I was having lunch just across the road with a friend so they were ideal really.

Now I remember being careful when entering the results for the Tuesday visit that I clicked on the right one, and I'm sure I checked it a couple of times before filling it all in. But come Thursday evening when I went to enter the results, only location 1 was left in my Booked visit list! So I guess I must have got it mixed up on the Tuesday.
Emailed them about it, and tried to phone them on the Friday. No answer. Got the generic results are due, let us know if you want an extension until tomorrow or will be deallocated email. Replied to that one as well, and sent the same message to the general email address for them. Still couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone.

Job deallocated that afternoon. :Grr: I wish I'd just filled it in on the wrong location, again I suppose, then tried to contact them and tell them they were the wrong way around.

Just annoys me when companies do things like that even when we are making several efforts to get hold of them.

The last time I worked for them they took about 7 weeks to pay. They only pay by paypal (so make sure you've got an address added on your profile). But 2 months seems a bit steep. Email the standard contact and chase. No point in getting angry with them - they are SLOW payers (as indeed it says in the OP!).

Morning all, did anyone get a reply from Helion about the shopper confidentiality thing with the hotel jobs? Or the fact that you can see other shoppers personal details?

I recently did 5 assignments for Retail Active which involved purchasing indigestion medicine. They reimbursed me £2 light. Not a great deal, I know, but they refuse to justify their lower payment and now don't respond to my e mails!

    Quick question

I recently made a small mistake and been asked to re-shop or receive nothing. Re-shopping would leave me out of pocket more than just taking the hit and making it a lesson learnt. Now am I allowed to mark this as a loss (of the usual expenses plus the required purchase) for tax?

Not sure if it's right but I have done and added a note on my spreadsheet explaining what happened so I can remember. E.g did a drive through chicken and the member of staff said the receipt was in the bag. It wasn't and I didn't get paid so put this down as a loss
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!

I've done the same. I messed up an assignment once, didn't get paid as I went 15 mins too early for the time frame, my fault but I couldn't fit a revisit in so I just put it down as a loss and chalked it up to experience.

If anyone was upto their limit on the large GFK email/phone call project the limit of jobs per shopper has now been increased. Unfortunately the fee had decreased. :(
