I keep clearing off my SD card and keeping my receipts. Maybe I need to re-think and save the contents of my SD card onto the computer. Do the uber-organised scan their parking tickets too? Has anyone who reads this thread been audited by Her Majesty's Tax Geezers? Or work for a company who has?0

Very much so, and if possible don't keep them in the same place!
Guy I know got his laptop stolen when someone broke into his house and he lost his whole masters dissertation about a month before it was due. We all scolded him for not having back ups and he said he did! He had an external hard drive and a memory stick. Turns out they nicked them too.
Also wow! 202 pages already! We chat too much lol.0 -

I still cant figure out how to get a photo from the phone to the computer so have to carry an old camera around with me!
If you have a Smartphone then e-mail it to yourself. If you have an older phone I know I was supposed to have a lead which plugged it into the computer. I lost it when I moved house. I hope this is of some help.0 -

I emailed a version of my dissertation to myself every single day... to TWO different accounts!
It's all about having data somewhere remote... like a cloud, or secure email account. Hard-drives can break, or get corrupt. A virus on a computer can infect a pen drive, hard drive and the computer itself.
Which reminds me, I must back up my photos from the past month or two...0 -

Dropbox gives you free cloud storage - great for backing up. It's also great for sharing photos and things with friends, if you don't want to put them somewhere public.0
