The manager then 'admits' he was wrong and does a bit of grovelling. But from now on he has a picture of you and your car and can stick it up on the wall for people to look out for.

I have no axe to grind as I failed the test and so have never done this job. However, I was telling someone about failing the test and they said they had worked for said company and yes, they do put a pic up and they circulate it. They also use the car details to spot the shopper.

I went for a burger, non MS, but in the time frame. 5 cars ahead of me. Even before I had placed my order, all the cars ahead of me were asked to park-up. Never been served so quick and with so much smarm!

Funnily enough Gyp had asked for a confirmation of my car and appearance just 2 weeks before. (which was paid no problem) Last laugh on me though, as they would then let their guard down and get caught by the real MS.

perhaps the burger flippers need to be aware of the above before breaking the law.

Sounds like I might be on to something then. And strangely enough, after my report got queried I've had the red carpet treatment too. Well, up until I changed cars that is. If I get a queried again within the next week or two could it still just be coincidence?

That's quite amazing :-p But be careful. I once went to a Gap Burger within a valid timeframe with a friend. When I later went to the same place on my own actually msing, it seems they confused the two visits and tried to accuse me of not going alone and ordering large quantities of extra burgers...! Fortunately, I am careful, and Gap's client have never been successful at overturning my results.

I have found that if you pay by credit card, you get a receipt anyway sometimes. It makes asking for a receipt seem, very significantly, less obvious, and I recommend it to everyone, but don't forget to get a proper itemised receipt nevertheless. I am also convinced that they share data between restaurants. There is no possible way things could have gone the way they did one day otherwise.

All this nonsense and pretence is one thing, but I must say that the best restaurants continue to be best and the worst worst despite their endeavours. If you do not know how to be perfect, you can try your hardest but you won't be. There is still value in the visits.

Re the GAP burgers place. Last time I did a drive through I had a loan car from the garage, which I know is used by one of the managers there. I bet he gets great service when he goes for a burger now. :D

GFK paid today :) I like GFK - reports are generally straight forward, there aren't daft proof reading queries, they pay every two weeks and when the pay day should be on a weekend day they pay early :)
  • Aw thanks everyone, I was feeling a little paranoid! The feeling of being watched is a little creepy though!! It is my local drive thru so maybe tempted to go for a burger just to see what treatment I get !LOL!
    :DPlease, pretty please!:D
  • Do most of you work for more than one company? Are there any that you would really recommend? I do R.eyes, and gap, but find with both that there can be weeks with nothing nearby. Any advice much appreciated :)
