  • Ooooh exciting times on the thread....hopefully we'll have lots of babies by tomorrow!

Good luck to twinkle, Mrs t and hayley!

Big hugs to winnie xxx that's rotten that they won't induce you before then (even if you will queue jump me! :D) you should definitely try and get in with the mw and see if she can help make it any earlier for you.

I would have been really annoyed with that delivery driver Elmo! It's your due date tomorrow for goodness sake, grrrrrr.

Welcome to redhead :) your family sounds like mine....we have LOADS of girls and hardly any boys in ours and everyone was convinced I was having a girl but scan showed definite boy bits lol :) it was so funny, I was gobsmacked and all my aunties were ringing my mam up to ask if I was ok with having a boy as they really couldn't imagine me having one!!! Ridiculous as all I was bothered about was that flump was healthy :)

I had an early start this morning as had to take the car to the garage for an MOT. It's about 5 miles away and oh is working until midnight so I'm stuck in the house until he can take me to pick it up tomorrow morning :( I was really sick this morning after coming home but went back to bed for a couple of hours and feel a bit more human now :)

Today I have been setting up all the Moses basket etc in our bedroom. My oh seems to think flump might put in an early appearance so thought it best to get this done ASAP and finish packing my hospital bag :) I think flump will be late though...

Talking to my mam last night. I am going to go amd stay with her on Sunday for a couple of days. Really looking forward to it :) I have told her that if I go into labour my dad has to drive me home as I am NOT giving birth in their local hospital haha :)

Hope to hear some baby news soon, take care everyone xxx

  • Do you want to come round mine and cook for me Elmo? That sounds delicious :) don't know what to have for tea...oh is working until midnight so just me to cook for and I cba doing anything complicated...looks like it is freezer fodder for me tonight!

You have reminded me that I will need going home clothes too! My "bag" is turning into a "suitcase". OH says I'm packing too much but I'm only putting in what's on the hospital list and the list posted on here. I pointed out that a wheeled suitcase is easier for him than lugging heavy bags so that has shut him up :D

My DH says that unless you were at conception or a medical professional you have no business being at the birth lol!! Not that my mum would want to be there - she wouldn't want to intrude on a special time for us both

  • I know when i had the youngest one, that i had forgotten so much, i didnt realise how teeny tiny she was and i forgot hats for her so when they couldnt maintain her tempriture oh had to come home and get some of her hats that were miles too big.

the best thing i ever got for the hospital was those disposable pants, note to self, find out if they still do them, if so...buy some

OMG, I've forgotten going home clothes for me too - trouble is I live in two pairs of trousers & three tops so don't want to pack them yet! :o Bet I forget when it all starts though!

Just wear what you wear into hospital if that makes sense! Nobody will know plus you will no doubt want to come home and have a shower/bath anyway. You'll be living in PJs/nightie in hospital so it won't hurt to wear the same clothes

I decided to bite the bullet re:mat leave start dates and have a pop at our people services team today on the whole starting on Sunday thing. Got some bloke who sounded petrified at having to speak to a woman about, gasp, whisper *pregnancy related stuff*... i told him the gov rules had changed, and dont require a SUnday start of EWC anymore, so why did our company, and he ummed and erred for a bit then said, oh yeah, its fine, you can give any day you like up until the day of birth. Which is great news, but i'm half convinced that he just agreed with me to get me off the phone, so i'm going to bung in my mat leave request and Matb1 tomorrow with my chosen date and fingers crossed!
Just saved myself 4 days of Mat leave! Woooo!

Next task, as suggested yesterday by someone, WW? Chasing down the rules on accumulating Bank Holidays whilst off. I know we accumulate ordinary leave, whilst on M/L - we get 26 days A/L + BH's usually. Would be GREAT to get the BH's on top of the AL. Lets see!

Good luck to all the inducees today. Hope you get lovely mummy cuddles very soon, and looking forward to hearing your updates!
