I wouldnt use either if we did.. though apparently there are walk in places here.. somewhere lol

Our GP you have to ring at 8am for an appointment.. I rang at 8:04 a few weeks ago for Squeak and ALL the appointments had gone!!!!! .. Anyway I whinged and she got seen as she had been diagnosed with pneumonia the week before there would have been trouble otherwise!

  • Oh I hate those "ring at 8am for an emergency appointment" things - I'd hardly be ringing for a chat now would I?!? Is your GP worth fighting to see anyway? I can't recall if he/she has been one of the useless crowd that you've had "looking after" you...

Is that what was causing Squeak to be all grotty and snotty a few weeks ago? Poor little mite, hows she doing now?

We've spent today turning our study into a nursery.

I've just decided that a lifetime's collection of books, cd's and vinyl is too much. I have over 5000 of each! I'm stuffed just moving them!

Oooh, exciting day :D If you are getting rid of your books you could exchange them on readitswapit, and CDs you could sell on Music Magpie? I just got rid of a whole load of my CDs as they were just collecting dust and didn't get listened to anymore. I got roughly 30p per CD but some I got a bit more for. You enter the barcode number and it gives you a price, then you accept or decline it, box them up, print your labels and take them to the Post Office, free P&P.

Wish I could get OH to part with some of his which haven't been listened to in the almost 9 years we've been together.

Womble.. how did you get on at physio yesterday?

I have just drugged my sore kidney... hopefully it will stilll function.. kidney failure/reduced function at 32 weeks is not what I had planned!!! Looks like the right one is ok though thank goodness..

Hey, hope you're ok? Reduced kidney function sounds serious and painful.

Physio went ok, thanks for asking. She said my problem appears to be muscular and that due to the excess pregnancy weight it is placing strain on my back, and that when my back relaxes when I go to sleep it is seizing up :( Which is exactly what I told the GP I thought it was ;) So she gave me a little massage, and some exercises to do, and I see her again on the 31st of Aug to see how I'm getting on. I went and bought a maternity support band from Boots, but I don't know if it's making any difference tbh.

Do you have one of those drop in centres near you?

I agree with PP in that they are a waste of time, yes they can diagnose you, but not write a prescription. Every time I have been they have said @I think it is such and such, you'll need to see your GP'. Well if I could have got an appointment with my GP that's where I would have went!

Can anyone remember if 4nnabella said the Boots 3 for 2 is starting on Monday or Wednesday next week?

Wish I could remember to do my pelvic floor exercises more regularly!!

Its such a shame that the standard of NHS services are so different up and down the country. I was so impressed with our local drop in centre I've actually registered as a "proper" patient there.

Glad you got some answers from physio :) hope the exercises help!

Yes.. she was ill for about 6 weeks.. :( All fixified now though.. in time to start teething again lol

No.. my GP is the one who told me I was menopausal and no chance of another baby.. erm.. ok... Then refused contraception TWICE after I had Squeak and to add insult to injury refused to terminate this pregnancy.. Class act my GP who is a former gynae .. obviously she was not good in that post!

I just have a dull ache across my back and intermittent really sharp stabbing pain.. apparently caused the inflammation and swelling of the membranes around the kidney due to the kidney overfilling with urine.. or I have kidney stones.. either way every 10-15 minutes it is taking my breath away.

thing is its usual lazy self so not under any pressure so Ill cope while Monday and ring the comm. MW who might actually listen.. MIGHT!!.. no that it makes much difference as I still have all the beasts on Tuesday anyway.. *shrug*..

Glad you at least got an answer from physio and hopefully the support belt and exercises will help.. you should do pelvic floor exercises along with the physio ones so you remember.. once a day is better than nothing! Or better still getting into the habit of doing them while washing dishes, cooking, laid in bed etc.. they all help..

Glad she's fixed bless her :) is she good with her teeth or grouchy?

Mmm, I'd be tempted not to see that GP anymore. Once I'd complained to the GMC about her for sure!

  • Thanks ladies, I'm busy looking for a pre natal massage therapist in the hope that even a lovely massage once a month will help relieve the strain and tension in my back. Well that's my excuse :D

Hope you get some joy from the Comm MW next week PP.
  • Lol see I'd forgotten all about teething and injections and potty training - all the fun that comes later :rotfl:

Speaking of fun stuff, my MIL seems to be a bit of a psychic - she has really random premonitions and I've been on her mind quite a bit apparently - anyway, today she's predicted that this baby is going to come in September between 13th and 16th! I have a consultants appointment on 14th (which she didn't know about) bit wierd or what!

So I apologise in advance if I queue jump in just under a months time :D
