I used it lots for DS1 and it was great for storage as it was open underneath and I had lots of wicker baskets. Looked lovely. With DS2 I just found it easier to put a changing mat on the floor or bed so that's what I'll do this time. I'm actually going to sell my changing table with the wicker baskets - whereabouts do you live? I'm Midlands

Aaah, shame I'm up by Newcastle. I've seen 2 in IKEA, one is £25 the other £62. I think I'm going to get the £62 quid one and like you say tart it up with wicker baskets for putting nappies and stuff in. We have a big open plan living / dining room so changing table will tuck quite nicely in the corner of dining room. I've set myself that we are getting one now, but don't want to spend a fortune on it. I get sciatica in my back so days/weeks when it is bad the changing table will be a godsend, also I have dodgy knees, so kneeling on the floor all the time will play havoc with them. OH's parents are late 60s/ early 70s so they will be able to use it when they are on nappy changing duty when visiting :D I think I'll get more use out of it if it is downstairs, plus I'll be feeding downstairs with having to possibly warm bottles in the middle of the night.

Oooh that's good then. Thanks so much, God I'll be on here all the time asking loads of stupid questions once the baby is born. I really have no idea about babies, I'll be 15 minutes to change one nappy to start with probably :o

Everyone has to start somewhere! I have 7 nieces and nephews and think I am quite confident around babies, but my big worry is bath time and heating up bottles. I am totally paranoid about burning them so have never taken responsibility for heating a bottle or running a bath for a baby/ small child  OH assures me that one I've done it a few times I'll be OK, but given that my oldest nephew is 21 next month and I've never built up the courage in all those years, I'm a bit more doubtful

Thomas Emlyn was born at 7:42am on august 7th 2011 he shares his birthday with his dad!! He's 6lbs 8 1/2oz and completely amazing. He's unique in that he has 3 thumbs, one of which doesn't have bones (but does have a nail) so will be removed at some point.

    I am completely in love.

congrats abby!!!! no stiches is good! :)

i'm very wary of buying loads of nappies, with DS I had to change brands various times depending on one size he was in I went from pampers to huggies back to pampers then to boots own back to pampers then huggies pull ups. Just a warning that not all nappies fit all babies properly we had major leakage problems lol xx

I bought some huggies and some pampers I think. I was always told to be wary too, but it's such a good price, if they turn out to be rubbish, I'll have to buy more :(
