    Evening all,

it is the night before the night i return to the uk. İts raining here in Turkey so i am getting acclimatised to what i have to come! My wife has got her visa but our daughter and her friend havent received theirs yet so it looks like i will be coming alone!--i am getting the blame because it is the british government's fault!! my wife tends to forget she left the applications until the beginning of june!-of course its all my fault!
İ shall leave my turkish city early on friday morning and fly direct to Bournemouth from whence i originate!--155 quid return which is cheaper than last year and that was flying to london.--i shall make a 4 hour bus journey within turkey instead of doing the same in the uk. İts a lot cheaper here on the bus!-my parents will pick me up at bournemouth airport which is 5 minutes drive from their home.

Since being on here i have bought a classic car for myself. i was looking at motorbikes before but saw sense and bought myself a beetle! when i return to turkey after the month in bournemouth i will have a couple of hair jobs to regain that surf style hairstyle i once 'sported'. i used to have one of those split screen vw van and do surfing!

i am looking to sell my classic car once back in bournemouth and also let my flat out because it is time i really made the break.-i am going to raise capital on my uk home and buy another home in turkey as an investment.
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

    Evening all!!

OH is at work still, swapped a packet of tabacco with him to get puppy as company for the evening :)
But he's shattered and fell asleep the minute we got in! But i've cleaned the kitchen and wiped out the fridge too.

Just about to go for a bath, then i've got some more surveys to do and need to make some form of sweet treat for the lunches tomorrow- either honey rice krispie cakes or maybe cookies - have v. small amount of milk and only 1 egg so need ideas really!

Then i really need to make my shopping list for tomorrow!

Off to Sardinia on Sunday to get car repair done.....will take a day but we there for week, just can't look at it as holiday as wouldn't have gone until October if it weren't for car....feel so stupid, and mad at having to spend this money now...but then no use crying over spilt milk, each euro will be squeezed until I have paid the money back to savings...sorry, other people have real worries.

Ok I am really confused now :o (doesn't take much :D) are you taking your car to Sardinia to get it fixed ?? seems a way to go :rotfl:

BB and Molly thanks for the advice. Yes she called the house phone:mad:. I have her mums number so am thinking of giving her a ring. I think I will say she can come around but must leave at 10 as those are the house rules much as it pains me to do so.

I would play all innocent, ring her mum and ask if she could ask her daughter not to ring the house phone at 11pm as it disturbs the baby / toddler / husband / you.....and by the way, would she like to come round for tea tomorrow? Result - 1 mum who now knows what daughter is up to, 1 girlfriend who now knows that her mum knows what she's been up to and 1 DS with a visitor for tea!!

FB - I went last Friday night, similar seats, fantastic view and an amazing show!! Won't say any more in case anyone else has tickets, but it was FAN-DABI-DOZI!!!

Not much OS - currently eating out of the freezer.....anyone fancy meringues or soup? After a recent freezer audit, I discovered that we have 13 lumps in 8 different flavours, along with 34 egg whites!! There's also lots of other "stuff" that needs eating, so it feels like it will be freezer challenge every day for the next 6 months!!

The bathroom is trundling along....8 days in to a 15 day job, shower base is in, wall boards are up, ceiling & 1.5 walls plastered, electrics & plumbing all in situ and the bath goes in tomorrow with tiling being started on Friday. We now have a home covered in dust, and piles of slate & marble tiles that have been sealed by DH before the tiler gets adhesive & grout on them.

In relation to that - can someone advise me when it is sensible to start to clean up? Do I wait until they have finished completely, or can I start when they have started the tiling, i.e. this weekend? The whole house is absolutely filthy and it's really starting to irritate me now!

    Evening All

Not been on for a while but try to read each day. This working two jobs is very hard, no time to myself and any time at home is spent doing housework, etc. I am off this evening, been to Costco with DD and we managed to eat quite a lot of pizza! Bought olive oil which is quite a lot cheaper than in the supermarkets, a side of salmon and decking oil. Also seemed to buy quite a lot of other rubbish coming to about £120!! Just as well I have 2 jobs!!

DD being very good and actually beginning to do stuff about the house without being asked (sometimes), DS2 still being a student and DS1 and GF still not having anything to do with us. Hey Ho.

In case I don't get back on, Hester I hope you have a lovely day on Saturday, don't stress, just enjoy.

Hope everyone is ok, and those feeling a little under the weather are cheering up. Take care. XX

The discussions with the bursar were reasonably civil, she did admit it's not fair that I am made the scapegoat.
The meat was delivered by the butcher today & it was spot on the amount I had put aside for it.
We had another rehearsal today & decided not to keep our vows secret til the day as it would just confuse our guests, they have now been added to our order of ceremony, which I will post on my blog if any one want's to read them.
    Have a good evening everybody.
    Hugs Hester

Floss I would start clearing up once tiling commences as that shouldn't produce too much more mess. You have

Ruby and Bargainbird.....the car stays in Sardinia, it is my brother's Italian car and house that we use, so it never leaves the island...will have no car for 2 days probably so will be travelling via local train that you flag down to stop and it costs about a euro to go to town so looking forward to that part of the trip. Iam hoping that they won't find any more problems with the car as it is not worth much now to sell but has been running like a dream up to now. Problems with the car here are usually sorted by DS3 when he has time.

Been to my last swimming lesson of this course, have to wait until September for next course so am going to try and swim a couple of times a week in the meantime, one of my 'knitting' ladies is happy to join me so that will be good, not great going alone when youre a novice.

    Sleep well all

It was truely amazing. So glad my pics came out good :) And I was very kind and didn't upload them to Facebook til teatime today so that all my friends/people I know who were going tonight wouldn't really have seen them!

Just back from seeing the new X-Men film. Again, A-MA-ZING!! I'm really not a big Xmen fan, but this was truely amazing for the full 2 hours :D loved the in-jokes and back (forward?) references to the other films. Am am now in love with James MacEvoy - yummy! :blushing:

    Off to bed now
