Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Wednesday 15th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning All
Overcast here today, but it's not raining yet.
At the rate I'm going I shall be wearing one of the gazebo's on the big day as I am eating my bodyweight in chocolate every evening!
Yes I'm STRESSED & no it isn't Saturday that is causing the problem. Our beloved bursar has reported me to the Head as she can't balance the books for my department, funnily enough I assumed balancing the books was her job, all I do is provide the information!
Oh well, maybe I'll start eating chocolate for breakfast too!
I'm not sleeping well & last night I was awoken in the night by hubby screaming loudly in the kitchen, rushing downstairs to see what was happening, I found him tangled up in the bunting that was hanging over the kitchen door. He'd gone downstairs, half asleep, to get a drink of water,he though he was being attacked by a Triffid, lol.
The OS in this post? I made the bunting myself.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester, Jaxx, BB and all who follow,

I had a good giggle over your OH and the bunting Hester, it must have looked so funny, hope things get sorted out at work.

Lovely again this morning, washing is out on line and birds singing.
I have got my first flower on my squash plant this morning, hopefully the squashes will grow quickly!

Work today and then another evening of transporting children around, people keep telling me that I will miss doing this when they grow up but I can't see it now.

Made loads of chilli for tea last night which we all ate with various combinations of tacos, naan bread and baked potatoes- no rice!
There is plenty left for tonight and I think that we will have it with rice today.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

    Morning everyone

Dry bright and sunny here this morning. Washing out on the line. DH up and off to work but not at stupid early o'clock, so he brought me a lovely cuppa in bed to start the day.

Dinner last night was a mixture, but everyone was fed, so they won't starve! DS1 remembered at 7am that he needed his ingredients for pizza dough today, luckily due to my OS ways I'd got everything needed, got it weighed and ready for him to take (should really have made him do it, but couldn't be a@@@d with mess all over as I was organising brekkie etc!!) Bad mum I know! The rest of the ingredients he needs to take on Friday and the finished product will (hopefully!!) be dinner Friday night.

Finishing work a bit later today they need extra help over lunchtime again this week, so am doing an extra hour, second consecutive week, don't mind helping out but we don't get paid for it, we get time in lieu, great if then you can take the time off when you want it, but due to sickness and staff shortages that's not always possible!

Have the usual list of chores to do once I finish today, but generally keeping on top of things, but need to do some deep cleaning, kitchen really needs some attention, inside of cupboards, and cupboard fronts, kickboards etc all need cleaning, trying to get to a point where I can get on the flylady forum so I can keep on top of it all, but major de-clutter still going on here. Dinner tonight is pork chops, potatoes, cabbage, carrots, broccolli, gravy.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning all,

HH - your story has made me chuckle this morning, poor hubby!, i hope work gets sorted soon for you

Well even though i ate too much pizza last night i don't feel too bad today, i have chicken salad for lunch and blackberries to nibble on. OH is having a little lay in as he's not starting till 8:30, he's got a private job later which is an easy £100 :)

£25 cash back from quidco should be on it's way to my bank account - quidco also says i'm due £30 in the next payment run...i'm not sure why! I have £10 from a survey site due to go into my paypal account next week too (which will go towards winter ebay purchases)

Still trying to meal plan for the rest of the month, all i can think of is chicken recipes and i want to mix it up with some beef/pork/lamb even fish to change it up a bit.

Need to compose a reply to my landlord today about the downstairs, i've asked my boss 100 questions to help us make up our minds.

Dinner tonight is spag bol i think, no doubt OH won't want it!

    Have a lovely day all

Hester...... Maybe you could turn things to your advantage with head - arm yourself with as much information as you can and if you can supply dates etc you could drop bursar in it big time x

So far it is a lovely day and I am off for a washing hunt in a mo to get enough for a load.

Will phone the Dr at 8.30am because foot and ankle are still swollen.

This evening I am going to meet my twin who is over from the US who I haven't seen in over 20 years.
