Any tips appreciated.
They've stopped despatching Wii to the UK in the last few days.loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -
Anybody who has bought a European Wii and does not have a adapter for the UK plug yet and doesn't want to look around the shops this weekend...

Just ordered a wii from john lewis at about 11.45am. Couldn't post as I was at work and just had enough time to complete order (class of year 9 finishing a test!). Haven't received a confirmation e-mail though and printer played up so hadn't printed order number - anybody experience of john lewis? order completed and i think
it has been taken from card.

You translate it using an online translator like the one on Google. However Amazon.de and Amazon.fr are now refusing to ship to the UK.
Not sure how that works as we are supposed be one big happy European Community but I suspect someone's being buying lots and then selling them on ebay for a big mark up.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends

toysrus is a con.
We got there at 5:30 this morning and was 33 and 34 in the queue. Tickets were given out at 6am by the store manager, nothing was said other than each person with a ticket would get a wii.
The manager didn't have a clue, he came out and gave 41 or something like that tickets away then everyone else was told no tickets left. A little later he came back out with another 12 tickets so people that were there at 6am didn't get anything but the last ticket was given out at 7:20 lots of people were turned away.
Apparently some store staff had been out with sheets showing the bundles they had on offer, I had been speaking to one of them for a few minutes and he never said that you couldn't buy just a wii you had to buy a bundle which the cheapest option was with 4 games for £249 ravin rabbids, chicken little and a choice of 2 other games. I actually wanted to buy a few games mario galaxy, sims 2 castaway, wii Play as presents but I don't want another copy of ravin rabbids and defiantly didn't want chicken little never mind 2 copy's of RR, CL and another 4 games. Spending a few pence short of £500 when all we wanted to spend was £360. and almost all the games in the restricted bundles are available in Asda in their 2 for £40 deal I know £70 for 4 games isn't a bad price but it is if you don't want some of the games.
So if you plan buying from toysrus be aware they force you to spend £70 on stuff you may not want I know I didn't so I gave the tickets to the guys in the queue. well someone offered me £10 for one of them so it paid for breakfast. the other went to the next person in the line.
BTW the Wii's were not for me I was doing it as a favour for someone my mum works with and a freind who asked me to try and get him one. I couldnt get hold of them to see if they were prepared to pay the extra so I left them. unfortunatly they won't rot on the shelves.0 -
Does anyone know if a wii console purchased in china (budapest I think) will work in uk and play games bought in uk? Also what price would you expect them to cost there?0
-
Well last time I looked Budapest wasn't in China!
However Wii's are region coded so if you buy an American or Asian one it will work in the UK with the correct Power Adapter but you will always have to buy games form the appropriate regions as well, unless you get it chipped. Also I think if you use the online faclities it will always default to the original region so you will get weather reports for China.
All Wii's in Europe will work fine in the UK however (again you will need an adapter for the power supply). It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
