  • Mines due from amazon.de on Monday, I ordered on 31st October
  • I too heard about amazon.de but they were out of stock when I tried on Tuesday. It gave me another idea tho - rang my bro who lives in France and he went to his local Leclerc supermarket and picked me one up for £175 (they only had a couple in stock). Luckily he already had a visit back to Blighty planned for next week. Just need to try and find Wii Play game now (forgot to ask him about that!)

Just had ours delivered from Amazon.de for £176. Took 5 days to deliver!

Is it identical too the UK one? What was the overall cost including shipping etc?

Also, was there much hassle involved in signing up to Amazon.de?

Also also, did you have to pay taxes...?

    thanks

  • If you buy from Amazon.de, some people state that it costs £176.

The price appears in Euros on their site. Does your credit card charge you extra for the currecny exhange or does it alter it £176 regardless?

The overall cost was shown as £176.12 on the delivery note. Just used my Amazon UK account login details which worked fine for Amazon.de. There were no other taxes.

Re credit card charges, I don't know yet - maybe somebody else does? But they have quoted the £ figure. If they do charge, it'll only be a small amount and worth the non 'kid' hassle in having the Wii. Re differences - only need to convert 2 pin plug to 3 pin UK plug (plenty of adapters out there from Argos/Maplin for £3 to £4) using adapter we already have.
I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!

    hi,
ordered my wii from amazon.de and should be here by tuesday!

Wii's bought in europe will work with games bought in the uk. but you will need a two pin to three pin plug adaptor which won't cost you more than a couple of quid.

The wii was meant to be birthday present but my sister couldn't find one anywhere! to give her her dues, she'd just come back off her honeymoon and she went round three towns looking for one. I wouldn't pay more than £180 for the basic console and wii sports.

I didnt get charged any extra from the banks for the conversion (on my electron card) and even with delivery i think it worked out slightly cheaper! now haveto make sure there's gonna be someone home on tuesday!

Word of advice, don't buy them for over the odds from some retailers and ebay...too expensive!

Happened to click on Amazon at 7.30am today & these were in stock - 3 left. Clicked on Buy & it came up with the "you are not logged in screen" - entered username & password & went back to the page & they'd sold out.

Edit: Managed to get one. I noticed that the stock history on wii-consoles.co.uk showed them as being in stock at Amazon at:

    7:14
    7:18
    7:23
    7:26
    7:30

So I just kept hitting refresh sure enough some more came in stock for just long enough for me to order them (& came in stock once more after that too).
  • How did u manage to buy from amazon germany as they wouldnt let me due to there overseas delivery restrictions on electrical goods?

    Any tips appreciated.
