Not in my Renault Laguna estate. I've had hubby & son in law wanting to teach me handbrake turns. I declined!
Just been around to driving instuctors house with champagne & bouquet & parked way down the road in case there were no spaces outside her house & I would have to go around the block again.
I'm sure it'll get easier. Driving on your own for the first time is scary. I keep looking for someone to tell me what to do.
Thanks all of you for the congrats & good wishes. I'm still on cloud nine.
:rotfl: I remember that well
I passed on Jan 4th this yr
3rd attempt
aged 26 yrs and 11 months old :rotfl:
It will get easier, though i have to say it took me a fair few months before i felt really confident with all aspects of driving ,now i cant imagine being a non driver !
what a fab early xmas pressie ,well done you :beer:0 -

Merry Christmas everyone!
Thanks for posting this, it has brought back the excited memories of when I passed - I can still remember that warm glow.
Congratulations.
Now, just take care on those horrible winter roads, won't you.;)7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
Thanks to all of you for your good wishes.
As soon as I woke this morning I remembered that I had passed & could not get back to sleep even though I had a rare chance of a lie in.
I have been in to my local town today shopping (about 2 miles away) & bought my very first car park ticket. What a weird feeling. I did not need to be out as long as I was but wanted to make the most of my first shopping trip as a driver. I managed to stall it twice on the way home. I'm told that's quite difficult with a diesel but I can manage it!
I think it'll be a good while before I'll gain that confidence that eventually comes.0 -

:rotfl: Know exactly what you mean ! I passed about 8 months ago, and even now I park miles away from the entrance at Tesco, just so I don't have to park in between 2 cars!!! Crazy really, it would be the same if 2 cars were either side or not - I just need to get the car in the 2 white lines!
My OH winds me up and reckons he needs a pair of binoculars to see the entrance! Hopefully I will improve, it's just all about confidence I suppose.
Well done to you anyway, it's a great feeling when you pass.
I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -

Wasn't it inconsiderate of our parents having us at this time of year!
I have never really felt that I've had a proper Birthday as everyone else is so wrapped up with Christmas. Were your presents always wrapped up in Christmas paper? Mine were.
Just to follow siut though my 5th child was due on Christmas day but waited till the 28th to arrive 16 yrs ago. I always make sure that his are wrapped in Birthday paper so that it seperates the celebrations.
This time I have the best one ever. A pink driving licence!!!
I've had that green one for too long.
My birthday is on Thursday and my MIL's Tuesday we both insist on bithday wrapping paper!!
Also did it annoy anyone else that you would always get 1 present with "That's for your birthday and Christmas"?
Although I would be happy with the housework done and no presents
Real men never follow instructions; after all they are just the manufacturer's opinion on how to put something together.
