Network dilemma in new house!

Right, in a couple of weeks I'm moving out into my own house and I have stumbled upon a problem with the network layout I was thinking of.
TV unit is on one side of the room and the phone port is diagonally on the other side of the room (did have a pic but couldn't post it unfortunately!) (it's a new build completed next week)
Basically I don't want any/very minimal amount of cables showing as it's a new house.
Where the TV is, is where the xbox, ps3 and wii will be which are all networked so need a network cable connection.
Now the phone port is on the otherside of the room so I need someway of networking without wires (wireless is out of the question tbh as a) 360 hasn't got wireless b) don't want the lag effects.
Thought of those powerlines (anyone got any experiences with those) which would eliminate the problem!
BUT: I'm getting sky fitted and the box needs a phone line connection and network for skyanytime+ so I presume they'll just throw the cables around the skirting board?! (which I don't want!)
Sorry for the long post but would really appreciate your input!

Before the sky engineer gets there take the skirting boards off (carefully) get him to run the cables round the bottom of the wall then replace skirting boards after he has gone
Seems the easiest answer to me.0
