Listing Removed

Hi

I listed a branded item yesterday on Buy it now and it sold yesterday itself. Today when I went into My eBay, I couldn't find it anymore and when I checked the listing, it said the listing has been removed. No e-mails or anything from eBay about the removal of the listing. The item was a genuine one was well so I really don't understand where the removal came from. Any eBay policy I'm not aware of? I also checked if there were other items of the same brand still selling and YES loads of them.

    Just did that

I reported a Spam going around on eBay yesterday and they thank me by removing my listing! :( Also, I have been charged the Insertion, Gallery and Final Value fees for the item and lost the buyer as well *sighs* I still can't believe it coz i got 100% feedback and been using eBay for quite some time now

What was the item? I don't know much about e-bay, but from reading these forums, it is often stated that you cannot sell many branded goods as you aren't a licensed reseller. I wonder if that is what has happened here, rather than it being thought a fake.
  • You should get an email from ebay/vero stating why and who wanted it removed, and a contact at the company to email.

Ive had loads of them now, i had quite a few of a particular item and had to resort to only listing them as buy-it-nows in the evenings and weekends as the company were only going through the ebay listings during their office hours (i was blanking out the description during the day!).
They theaten supsension of your ebay account, but ive had about 15 removed now and they just get you to answer some questions about the listing policy.

I got loads of listings removed the other week as i wrote please do not bid yet as i was going to add the pictures the next day(as i was listing loads of stuff and it saved time). Apparently they were ghost listings. I was mad. They often remove innocent listings and leave well dodgy listings which makes me mad.

It was a Ralph Lauren top that I bought ages ago and wore it only once. As I'm moving house soon, I just wanted to get rid of some unwanted items. Do you need to be a licensed reseller to sell even used one?

I didn't get any e-mails or anything explaining why they removed it. That's what make me mad. If they did explain, I would have known straight away what was wrong but NO!

Sometimes they email the next day so you probably will get an email explaining why. Maybe relist it and say 100% original Ralph Lauren top(if it is).
Its a bit daft if you cant sell a second hand designer top. I sold second hand Timberland baby clothes ok.

I had a listing removed twice and it was exactly the same item that 8 other people were selling at the same time and several others since. Got some-one else to list it for me and it didnt get removed.

I clearly stated in my listing that it is a genuine Ralph Lauren

I think what happened is that, yesterday I reported a scam going on on eBay and they checked my listing. I can't believe I was doing them a favour and they thank me by removing my listing!

If it is the case then, they should not allow any branded items to be sold on eBay (I know it's a bit radical) but why should they pick on people who are selling one or two (which in most cases, their items are genuine) rather than the big fish who are selling by 100s?
