rosebyanyothername wrote:It seems the more u order the better the discount eg i ordered a girls sewing machine at first for 39.99 with three discount codes as above i got it down to 19.99. but on ordering again another £100 worth there was no postage and with same codes it came down to £34.99. There is a free toy to value of 19.99 for orders over 75.00 but dont add this as it comes up as a voucher clash and the system wont allow it cause i tried!!!!! If the order has been accepted I dont think they can cancel can they?
Of course they can cancel it. I fully expect when they realise what is going on all orders will be cancelled. After all they dont charge until dispatch.
I hope they do dispatch though unlikely, now putting my self in their shoes i would cancel all orders as this would cost the buisness ££££££, i dont know how many people have ordered but they have practically cleared out the on line store.:D"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -
Seems someone has wised up
I just went back on the site as i thought i might try again and all the codes come back invalid. All the expensive toys are sold out so it seems like people have shopped the shelves dry so to speak. It will cost them a lot to fulfil al orders so i dont think they will. Although it would be in the christmas spirit if they did. Just wish i had ordered the wow factor toys there was a snooker table for £2000:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.0 -

My purchase wasn't in that league, but the rocking horse I hope I've bought for our grandaughter was priced at £249 and the reduced charge was £100 - this is because every time a voucher was used, the full % was taken off the original price, not the newly reduced price, hence a true 60% reduction (I think!) - Hamleys will either have to honour at reduced price or 'withdraw the offer of sale', they can't despatch and charge the original price without our agreement I would have thought. I'm told woolworths had some mispricing yesterday but wouldn't honour the low prices!
We can only hope!THE LONDONERS0 -
The thing is the markup on toys is huge even at 60% off i bet they still turn a profit, electronics like TV's have very small margins0

That's true - I did try to order Nintendo or PS, but both times I was redirected to another site, it may have some affiliation to Hamleys, but the coeds weren't accepted, so gave up on that idea!
I expect we'll all get news tomorrow, welcome or otherwise!THE LONDONERS0 -
I ordered with just the 40%, it looks like these are waiting for dispatch.
Shame as I then saw the other offer, but the site went down as I was trying to check out. My kids would have been so thrilled, I had pixels, chemistry sets, boards game and loads more, all wanted goods!!
At 40% I was happy, on searching, I think you can get the goods at around 20% less, so I felt like I had found a good price and then used a discount/promotional voucher.
I think my order will be sent, but at 60% not sure, that was a really great deal!!!ACII and Chartered so now I can focus on learning to play my beautiful Sax. 🎷0 -

v true the y could turn something like this to their advantage i mean how many people probably visited their site to check out the glitch and ordered anyway even if they were unable to get discount. Also it would look good in their sales figures. Perhaps more stores should think of doing this as a publicity stunt...So like rumours go round to go to a certain site as their is a mega discount and make sure it only lasts for say half an hour anyone coming after this time could get a slight discount but not as big say...
if my order goes through £200worth of toys for £80 then i personally will start believing in father christmas!!:T:j I sometimes give myself admirable advice, but am incapable of taking it.0 -

If they were really cunning, what they would do is to go through all the orders and cancel the ones that will result in a loss. I'm sure even at 60% off there'll still be several hundred profit making or break-even orders.
But there's no doubt that it's going to be a massive headache for them to cancel all the orders and respond to queries. And they've potentially lost many genuine sales that couldn't get through because of their slow website.
What's incredible is that they must have known about it (since people were calling up their customer service department for help) but they didn't bother to cancel the codes immediately.0
