tesco cheap vodka - silly question but please help

I've made some toffee vodka but as i haven't drunk vodka before only bought a small bottle for £3.00 odd, silly question i know but is it meant to "warm you up so much" :rotfl: At the moment it will probably go down the sink (unless i give it to my brother and sister in law as a small gift). Unfortunately i found the thread about filtering cheap vodka too late - does this work or should i just go out and buy a more expensive brand or does vodka taste that awful anyway. Please help as most people on here rave about it and i was so excited about making it but when i tasted it i had to drink juice straight after as it was so erm warming lol.

vodka does warm you up a bit, you need to get used to it first.
Or try chilli vodka, neck a shot of that and all other vodka will taste pretty calming.0 -
thanks lol, i think it will be given away as a gift :rotfl: i will stick to malibu and coke i think

hi there, i have never had toffee vodka but i no u can get a cheap bottle of vodka at asda for about £6, it is their smart price make and if u put it with pepsi max it is lovely. make weak ones to start off then strengthen them. a vodka hangover isnt too bad as its gentler on the stomach.. so thats a bonus! i usually hate spirits but i do like my vodkas, try it and see...... have fun, i no i do!!! xx
p.s. now i fell really bad encouraging u to drink.Just to win anything would be great!!0 -

The 1st 2 or 3 will burn your throat, but after that your probably be too hammered to taste it !!!

As a sefconfessed Vodka Expert then yes cheap vodka is no where near as smooth as "nice stuff"... But then I am talking about vodka that is brought over from Russia for me by my dad and stepmum (Who's russian) so I'm a bit spoilt really
The best vodka is definitely the non export stuff
The advice for cheap/rough vodka is to use it for home made liqueurs and flavoured vodka's -that's what the russians do to it.
Yes even flavoured vodka's will burn your throat thounless you make it into a very sweet liqueur using LOTS of sugar

Now that's a good idea, if they don't drink it that's what i'm going to do.

Cheap vodka is a little rougher, for sure. More expensive vodka is generally a little easier to drink.
A stupid question though: What's the point of making toffee vodka in the first place? Why not just buy a bottle of dooleys/corky's?0
