in Credit cards
Hi all,
I was wondering if it is possible to have a Granite card aswell as a Vanquis card?
My thinking is a better APR as my Vanquis is on 69.9%!
Not that it really matters as I pay it off. Still might mean more green zeros!
Thanks all

No, not possible unfortunately.
69.9%?!?!? Jesus!! :eek:I spent 25 years in the mobile industry, from 1994 to 2019. Worked for indies as well as the big networks, in their stores also in contact centres. I also hold a degree in telecoms engineering so I like to think I know what I’m talking about 😂0 -
Why not try aqua or capital one if your looking for a better apr0

69.9? I didn't think a interest could be that high for a credit card. You have a Capital One Classic in your sig, still open? You might be limited to other options. On the bright side you don't have the APR of Wonga.0

Adding another credit card to your profile won't help.
It's not just about green zeroes - far from it.
Creditors like to see stability and well planned financial decisions - collecting credit accounts willy-nilly; even if they are run impeccably; isn't what prime creditors will be looking for when your CCJ and defaults drop off.
You're best off leaving as is :beer:Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

What advice would would you give then? Cheers0 -
Thanks for all your comments.
Is the best thing to keep my 2 credit cards running and close them maybe a month or 2 after all adverse drops off and then apply for mainstream?

RE: Best number to have - no magic number - but the more you have, the more comitted you appear. Also, the youngest your most recently opened account is, the less stable you appear.
I personally have one active credit card, one active bank account w/ overdraft, one active mobile phone account and one active loan account.
mattlfc79 - if I were in your position, I would leave all as is, and save closing your cards until after you've been approved for a mainstream card next year.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
