Wedding Rings

There's always loads of posts on engagement rings but being nosy I wondered what everyone's having as a wedding ring.

I spent ages trying to decide what to get as I don't like the traditional plain bands, and also I don't think I will always wear my engagement ring with it so I want it to be a bit special on its own.

I've gone for a 6mm wide White gold flat band with a teeny tiny diamond band nearest my knuckles. My OH has gone for a 8mm Rose gold D-shaped band. As you can see we aren't matching at all!!

Has anyone gone for anything really original/out of the ordinary?

Nope very plain - 2mm Heavy D 18Ct white Gold plain band.

It matches the band of my 'non-engagement' ring.
Not sure yet whether MrD is having a ring yet or not.

My white gold engagement ring has got a few scratches on it; does anyone know if this is a problem with white gold wedding bands?
OH suggested platinum but it's v expensive!!

I dont like the way a wedding band sits with my engagement ring and after a quote of about £550 to get one to fit have decided to have my engagement ring on my right hand and so think im going to get this ring:

I wanted something that would look pretty and sparkly on its own and love this one, plus I can use my tesco vouchers towards it!!

ive seen that on here before-- but my engagement ring has been on my finger since 14th feb 2010- and i do everything in it- and it looks brand new still

can you go to a jewellers and get it cleaned- most of them do this- i know h samuel does and its about £25ish pounds
and yes platinum is very very expensive

and if you have a white gold engagement ring then you have to have a white gold wedding ring- if you have another like platinum then it rubs the white gold- and will break it

We are having our wedding rings made from a bracelet that I inherited from OH's mum when she died. I would never have worn it as a bracelet and we thought it would be nice to use it and have something that we would both wear every day from it. My eternity ring had to be made to fit against my engagement ring (talk about making things difficult!) and now my wedding ring will match them too! I don't have any pictures of them yet but I am looking forward to getting them all back from the jewellers.

Nope, definately not having anything unusual. We are both just going with plain platinum bands.
