    aahhh Mr_P.

Doesn't say where you are flying to but I suggested Rome - Fiumicino - L. Da Vinci Airport, Italy. Anyway they have quoted me for a fiesta 1.25 which comes in at £125.67 which includes tax , location service charge, collision damage waiver, theft protection, vehicle licensing fee and road tax. and unlimited KM's. This is with HERTZ

PS Hope you've opened that Nationwide CC!

    Be careful in Italy.

We went there a few years ago and got a hire car at Florence airport.
My husband was careful to load his luggage himself (he has expensive cameras). Other people were chatting and allowed the "car hire people" to take their luggage.

One of them was a con man in a suit and put their lugagge in the next vehicle and drove off (complete with passports).

All cities are not safe but Italy seems to be worse in my experience.

Do not assume that someone in a suit is official even in a hotel.
If someone takes your lugagge then watch where it goes (or take it yourself).

The same con man also came and stood very close to me at the airport when there was plenty of space.
I held onto everything and made sure he knew I was watching him.

So if anyone stand too close when it' clearly not necessary then beware, they are probably trying to have a good look at your stuff.
I would very baltantly stare back in this situation so they are fully aware I have my eye on them or I would even ask them sarcatiscally "can I help you?".
Doesn't really matter what you do as long as you communicate to them that you are alerted to their behaviour.

has anyone used them? are they good? do you get a good car? i notice that all car rentals say "or something similar" i dont want to get a car that ends up being rubbish! iv never hired a car before!

I've just used https://www.carhire3000.com to rent a car in Sardinia. They were the cheapest I could find. They have no cancellation charge and you collect your car from the Avis desk. I'd deffo use them again.

only problem with that is that you have to be least 23! even then it was coming up with £162!

I'm glad you have come up with https://www.carhire3000.com as I am faced with a similar problem with reference to car hire.I also have found these to be the cheapest available and believe you me I have spent hours looking. It also helps that you recommend them.
    Thanks.
