Did the seller tell you it would be / was dispatched wed or did you just assume this because you asked for it to be dispatched after Tuesday?

I was explicitly told it would be Wednesday. On Thursday, when I received the tracking details (but told the wrong place to track it, hence couldn't), I assumed that it had been dispatched that day.

I remember when paypal first came out - all sellers waited until the money was in their bank before sending. But that was then, and now sellers send as soon as the money hits the paypal account. But with paypal freezing accounts left, right and center, and reversing withdrawls to bank accounts - some people are a bit nervous that they will never see their money. Or maybe he just did not know the rules.

If you go to order details in my ebay, when does it say it will arrive? It will either say a date (e.g 10th - 16th june) or a number of working days (eg 6-10). If the seller gets it to you within this time, then thats what they promised before you bid - and you still bid with this information to hand. Special requests should be made before you bid.

If its past this timescale though - you can reflect this with low stars in feedback. Communication certainly sounds like it needs improving.

I'm currently in the process of buying an item I won on Saturday. I immediately paid by paypal, and asked the seller to send on Tuesday or later as then I'd be able to be in from work to collect it.

Among a whole stream of poor actions by the seller, they claimed that they only sent me the item on Friday because it took that long for the paypal funds to reach their account.

How can that be? Newbies have a 21 day hold on funds, but that does not usually mean that they hold off on sending the goods. And if there is a shorter time for funds to clear into a paypal account for someone with over 30 feedback, does it really explain payment on Saturday, dispatch booked on Thursday, and sent on Friday?

Which Saturday are we talking about here? Sat 5th june and posted 10th?

If so, where is the problem - as you asked him to post it Tuesday OR LATER?

The problem was that he told me that it was being sent on Wednesday, and he would send it to me by next-day delivery, so it should be with me on the Thursday. After waiting in on Thursday, I received a tracking number that I couldn't use to track it, so I assumed it was sent next day delivery to arrive on the Friday, and waited in again.

If he had told me straight out that he would be sending on Friday, there would have been no problem. If he had told me on Wednesday that he wasn't sending that day, then there would have been less of a problem. If he had given me the correct place to track the package, rather than the wrong one, it would have been less of a problem. The problem is not how many days it took, the problem was him telling me that he was going to send it one particular day, not sending it, and worst of all, not telling me.

    Definately needs to improve communiaction.

In answer to the original question - paypal is not an issue - once paid, the item needs to be sent.

So you are justified in being unhappy at being messed around, and as such can reflect it in feedback - if you so wish.
