Competitive Samsung Galaxy S II Contract/s?

Hello fellow money savers,
Any advice/comments gratefully received please:
I've been trawling the internet and mobile phone shops all day and I'm still feel rather confused and overwhelmed!
I'm currently with T-Mobile and my contract is well overdue for renewal. I want to upgrade my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S II as this phone appears to have received excellent reviews and seems to be held in much higher regard than the iPhone 4. Does anyone have any views?
I've contacted T-Mobile and I do not feel the renewal deal they've offered to me is competitive - plus I would like to switch away since T-Mobile charge for voicemail retrieval (unless you buy an add on) which ends up costing me a small fortune each month and it would be good to get a new number too.
The best deals I've come across to meet my needs (I talk and text a fair bit!) are 24 month contracts with 3 and Orange (who both provide free voicemail retrieval):
3:
* Free phone
* £35 per month (incl VAT)
* 2,000 minutes
* 5,000 texts
* Unlimited data and internet access
* £20 voucher for phone accessories
Orange:
* Free phone
* £35 per month (incl VAT)
* 1200 minutes
* Unlimited texts
* 500 mb internet data - I've been advised this is a reasonable amount which I would be unlikely to exceed each month?
On paper, the 3 deal is much more competitive and represents the better deal. However, I've heard such mixed reviews about 3 (poor c/s, network coverage, contract termination, etc) that I'm not sure what to think and the fact that 3 undercuts other providers by quite a large amount also makes me slightly suspicious?
I've looked at network coverage which places 3 and Orange on a par - but if this is true, why do people still complain of poor coverage on 3?
Does anyone have any direct experience of both 3 and Orange and how they compare? I'm also looking to purchase a mobile broadband dongle and so if anyone knows of any good deals/discounts for purchasing this and a mobile phone contract together please let me know - although from what I can gather, this seems to make no difference to being able to negotiate a better deal. I'm feeling wary since a 24 month contract is quite a commitment. However, this seems the best/only way to get the best deals. The absolute maximum I would want to commit to per month would be £40.

After weeks of looking around and threatening to leave Orange, i walked into their shop yesterday and got the following deal for the Samasung Galaxy S2:
900 min
Unlimited text
Unlimited Internet
750mb
50 pic messaging
Wifi at BT hot spots (not sure what this is)
This was offered at £40 a month but a little birdie at the shop told me that orange offer a 25% discount to existing and new customers if they work for the Government or selected UK compnaies. This isnt heavily advertised as they dont want many people knowing. I managed to get all the above for £30 a month without having to pay anything for the phone. I knwo its not a good deal as what others were getting but its pretty reasonable.0 -
