Bit of advice needed.
Gizmo the cat who currently lives with OH went missing in the middle of May.
we searched everywhere, we called everyone we could think of.. nothing
We asked people to check their sheds as he loves sheds and possible mice living in them... nothing came up.
We made a decision to get another cat, as Perry the pup was missing Gizmo, and he had such a great relationship that we didn't want him to loose that,
And so we bought a kitten, a week later Gizmo came home (:T)
We always said we would never give up on Gizmo, and are so glad he came home. Before he went missing we were discussing him moving in with me prior to OH doing so as next year we are getting married.
Here is where i need advice, at my home i have Perry the pup, who after a week and a half is quite happy and settled with the new kitten who is now 8 weeks old, on Thursday she will be 9 weeks and booked in for her first lot of jabs.
We plan to move Gizmo in, but the question is when, is it safe to do so now, or should be wait until she is allowed outside, as Gizmo is an outdoors cat, although he will have to start life with me as an indoor cat until he is happy and settled.
Would be better to have them both in, but is it safe to do so whilst kitten is having her jabs, should we wait until she goes out, then keep him in... confused and in need of some sensible advice please.

Is Gizmo neutered, fully vaccinated and up-to-date with flea, worm and ear mite treatment? Is he the playful type or might he hate a kitten on his back? Does he seem back to normal or skittish after his experience? Are there high spaces where Gizmo can go but the kitten cannot at your place?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

definitely neutered, and we have just found out from prievious owners he had his first jab.. the said before he was done
annoyingly they haven't given over his card with these details on which makes me think they aren't telling me the truth, and yes to worm flea and ear mite.
i have a dog and i have all his jabs details on a card, i assume it is the same with a cat?0 -

Yes, my cat Eric has his own vaccination card with details of the jabs (the labels from the containers showing batch serial no etc), dates and vet's sig as proof. He needs this if he stays at a cattery. If the previous owners don't have a card perhaps they would let you call Gizmo's old vet to confirm ?
We would like some photos of your furry family please !!

As Gizmo is neutered he is far less likely to have contracted infections that are usually transmitted by s*x or toms fighting over territory and females. I would keep them apart until the kitten is fully vaccinated - speak to your vet about starting vaccinations again from scratch with Gizmo, whether he recommends a 'quarantine' period before introductions and if there are any infections that Perry can pass from one to another. When will your vet be willing to neuter Georgie? If he starts with 'puberty' then he is more likely to fight with Gizmo, and hence more likely to catch something. Much of it is small risks, but I know you and your OH would never forgive yourself if something went wrong.

I just love this one.
My cat came with his own card with all his old jabs etc on it, since he was a kitten, I would check with the old vet and see what information they can give you.
I am sure to start with there will be a sorting out of the 'pecking' order in your house, just make sure you are at the top of it!!Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles
