I've openned a Santander account once, only to be able to have a Visa Electron Debit cad, so could avoid paying a card fee, however around a year after my account was openned they have changed my card to Visa Debit, which has made this account useless to me.
The only bank I am aware of, that provides with Visa Electron is Halifax with it's Basic account, but hence I have already a full current account with Halifax, I don't think they would let me to oppen a Basic account as well. Are there any other banks/bs's that do Electron cards and are able to receive a faster payments?

I am in similar situation with you, I still managed to open Halifax "Easy Cash" a/c which come with Electron Visa Card.
If you want to avoid scrutiny, open it online so they have no chance to ask why do you need "easy Cash A/c" if you already have another current a/c. Try it first ....Mishomeister wrote: »

i tried for an easycash as i have an isa with them and they claim they dont have my middle name, so required ID. gave it to them my passport 3 times and they still claim not to have it so no new halifax accounts for me.

Apply for the Halifax basic account. Your existing account almost certainly won't stop you getting the basic account.0

I have a full current account with Halifax and wanted an Electron for the same reason. I got the same letter saying that because they don't have my middle name, they can't open an Easycash. So I went in with my passport, then applied again, and all was well, I now have Visa Debit on my main account and Electron on the easycash account. You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.0
