cash on pickup, what about paypal?

Hi, This is my first time post. Ive sold some shelves on ebay, the buyer is going to pick them up and pay cash, Ive changed the invoice to remove the postage but what happens with paypal? Thanks.:)

Not sure what you mean - if he is paying cash on collection Paypal isn't involved...0 -
They come around, pay you with cash, you (or them) mark it paid on ebay.0

It's a good idea NOT to accept payment by paypal for cash on collection items.
There is a common scam which goes like this: Someone wins a "cash on collection" item, and pays by paypal. They come around and collect the item. After a while, the buyer (scammer) opens a dispute claiming that they never received the item. Paypal then asks the seller to provide evidence that they delivered the item, which the seller doesn't have. Therefore paypal reverses the payment, and refunds the buyer. The buyer then has both the item, and the money, and the seller has neither.0 -

You dont have to send the buyer an invoice just message them asking when they would like to collect. When the item is collected you just mark it as payment received.0

I would refuse it. I wouldnt care about ebay rules. If you're picking it up, it is cash, or no sale.

I can live with a neg and an NPS. Better that than being scammed by someone! I dont sell on ebay that often anyway.
i dont get why people would rather lose money than lose feedback scores...as you read often on here and on the ebay boards.0
