How many of you lovely folks out there check your receipts
I was caught out twice in the last month
In Sainsburys the young man weighed my carrots as swede which were 3 times the price
Last week 2 reduced items were charged at the normal price
I didn't notice this till much later
Now I ALWAYS check my bills

I was most certainly guilty of not checkig mine, but since joining MSE I check it thoroughly every time, and about 30% of the time have noticed a discrepancy, so heaven knows how much I've overlooked in the past, but I'm far more diligent now.0

I always do now but only because of a few things not adding up a while ago. I have to say being lucky enough (or not so lucky you decide) to live within 2 miles of all the big 4 supermarkets I shop at them all regularly (to get the best of all the offers) and the worst culprit Ive found is Morrisons for incorrect receipts.Happy days

I am the one who always doing this. Well my mom taught me to do this. At first I just thought that she doesn't believe the cashier in doing her job. But this is more than that. So now I always do this. Not only do check the bills but also the change, if there is any. If we find the change is lesser than what it should be, it is our right to tell the seller. And if we find the change is too much, it is a must to turn it back right?

I always check. Last week in, yes once again, SAINSBURYS, on the self-checkout my two lots of 2 litre milks didnt come up as 2 for £2 as per the SEL. I pointed this out to the assistant who twiddled with the keypad of the machine whilst remarking "yes, it's not been doing that today for some reason...." It was almost closing time at this point and I wondered how many people hadnt noticed this fact.Ellie

Ive been checking without fail last few months and have been quite shocked how many mistakes there have been, especially with things ive bought on offer.
Yesterday i was charged for 4 packs of yogs in aldi but only had 2. Makes me wonder how many mistakes have gone by without me knowing when i didnt even think to check receipts:o0 -

I work for one of the major supermarkets and one of my early morning jobs is price changes - we try to get these done before opening time- this can be quite a challenge if the prices of DVDs or computer/console games change as there are hundreds of titles.
In order to be fair to the consumer the price changes are done as follows:
New label attached to shelf and then till/computer updated with new price- move on to next item.
This is the order during the week.
Prices increases
price drops.
new labels. new labels include addition or removal of BOGOFF 3 for £2 etc info from the label. These are done last because technically they are not price changes and can be left if time runs out. They are the biggest cause of customer complaints.
If time runs out we are allowed to do price reductions after opening time but not increases.
On weekends prices are reduced on Saturday morning but not increased until after closing Sunday.0
