I keep getting pop ups from Security Shield telling me I have lots of viruses and then trying to get me to pay for a licence to run Security Shield.
I have tried to follow the instructions on the sticky to download th anti virus software but it seems to be blocking me from downloading them!
Please be very gentle with me as I am not very confident about technology.

I had someone call round with a laptop that had this trojan, they are all fake reports issued so try not to panic.
Above post shows the solution.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -

Thank you so much.
I used the link for the free download.
However, as a MSE I am very disappointed that, in fact, it is not free and in order to remove the virus you are required to register and pay!
Or have I done something incorrectly?0 -
You've done something incorrectly
please be clearer about what you have done, what doesn't work etc.
you are supposed to be downloading rkill, running it, then doing a malwarebytes scan, (which is free) as the guide in post 2 says
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html
malwarebytes installer starts with mbam-setup
if you have downloaded something else (by clicking on an advert for example), uninstall it!!
