On Thursday last my Mrs received a letter from Roxburghe re. Elite Management ( Midlands) Ltd, asking for £196.00.

I remember getting a ticket on a piece of land adjacent to a pub, but thought it was a joke ... I was just going to the bank over the road ..

Roxburghs are winning at the moment as my Mrs is giving me Hell as the car is registered in her name and I didn't tell her about it.

What to do ? - 14 days to pay apparently .... cowboys, this is profiteering at its worst.

Why did you park on someone else's land without their permission?
The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark

Some people make their land look inviting and sometimes even dress them up to look like free car parks, so they can rake in the cash from fines.

There was one near me some years ago, bit of land next to a council run gravel surface car park, the guy got gravel the same colour as the council carpark and pulled down his fence, it was impossible to tell if you were on his land and the fines were pretty steep.
